based on stories and characters created by Winnie Holzman
(Written from Brian's point of view, to Angela.)
Out in the darkness when you came home
Feeling like me - Scared and alone
So many things that I wanted to tell you
As you were standing there,
So many things that I just couldn't tell you
My angel with crimson glow hair,
Run away with me, to before this decadence
Run away with me, to when we were young, and life made sense
Before I found us torn apart
To when we didn't worry about what to say
Before my world came crashing to an end
Before my angel ran away
So many things that I didn't dare ask you
This is me you're not talking to
And you're not the person you used to be
It's a stupid act, Angel, and you're scaring me
Come back outside, Angel, dance with me in the dark
As your carefully constructed identity falls apart
Angela...what happened to us?
Your hair has changed, the question is, have you?
You think of me as the boy next door, that you once knew...
But I know you're the same angel I've always known
And I'm still so in love.
So I make up excuses, and appear at your door
Hoping to reclaim my angel once more
Turn around, and walk away from me
I don't have the courage to explain
That I know you Angel, and I feel your pain
I can't say what I feel, so please read my mind
And know the love you you're leaving behind
As you search for something better, something new
You leave me here alone, that geek without a clue
Come back with me to the moonlight and the darkness Angel,
We still have some dancing to do.
