based on stories and characters created by Winnie Holzman

I know I wasn't there,
And I'm sorry,
I know you'll miss my hair,
And I'm sorry,

I'm sorry it took so long, so much,
Just to make me start to see,
That without you in my life,
There's not much left of me,

And I'm sorry,
More than you'll ever know,
And I'm hating myself,
For ever letting you go

I wish that you could walk in my shoes,
And you could know how bad I feel,
Maybe you could smile again, knowing,
That what we had was truly real,

And if you never smile at me again,
I'll feel better just knowing you're okay,
I want you to know, things would be so different,
If I could go back to yesterday,

I'm sorry it took me so long
To make me start to see
That without you, in my life,
I'm just not me.
