Jordan is driving, Rayanne sits beside him. Neither
seem very friendly, they barely seem to acknowledge
each other. Jordan moves to light a cigarette, and
Rayanne watches as he, frustrated, tosses his empty
pack out the window. This someohow seems to give
Rayanne some feeling of control now, and she settles
in against the pasenger door and studies him.
"Why are you doing this?"
Not looking over at her, "Doing what?"
Rayanne responds with a tone of voice that gestures to
their situation, 'iThis/i."
"Why are you?"
"Please. This is what I do." Jordan gestures slightly,
intending to indicate the same about himself. "No. You
don't do this." Absently playing with her braids, "Even
before Chase you didn't do ithis/i." Jordan starts to
rebut but she cuts him off. "Not like this you didn't."
"What do you care?"
"Because, I'm the one sitting over here in your
passenger seat." This cliched inuendo stops her for a
moment before she regroups. "Revenge?"
"What?" He is irritated now.
Calmly, "I'm just figuring out if your doing this for
revenge."
Gruffly, "Look." He recovers his composure and
continues, "Do you want to do this, or not?"
"I'm not sure you want to."
"Look, just forget it. Forget the whole thing.
