Delia: sorry? what did you say? i was kind of drifting in the moment.
Brian: oh. i said 'me too. Delia.'
Delia: oh... Brian. I'm so happy. I' ve never felt this happy before.
Brian: uh. yeah.
Delia: so... you want to come over and meet my parents after school?
Brian: after school? today? today after school?
Delia: (giggles)Brian...
Brian: I have to... I can't... I uh, I promised that I'd help my neighbour with homework.
Delia: oh. well, that's not the whole night is it?
Brian: well...
Delia: actually that's better. you can have dinner with us.
Brian: dinner?
Delia: yeah... say around seven?
Brian: actually I can't, see... uh, Angela... you know Chase? She's doing really badly at geometry, and I promised like, years ago, I'd go through the book with her. you know... thoroughly.
Delia: oh. I guess... another time?
Brian: right... another time.
Long silence. After a while Brian looks relieved and looks at his watch.
Brian: I have to go to trig. now. I'll see around.
Brian, happily starts to leave.
Delia: wait! I could come and help, you know with the math.
Brian: No! I mean, you can't... it's best if you pretend I never told you. you can't... I mean, she's really embarrassed about it. and everything. you know.
Delia: oh. okay.
Brian: well. okay. see ya.
Delia: see ya.
Brian rushes out before Delia can say anything else.
