Angela turns to go after Brian.
Angela: Brian, wait!
Brian: (turning around) What?
Angela:(VO) Have you ever just did something on impulse, and then feel like a total fool when you realize you have no idea what to say?(Out Loud) We need to, like talk.
Brian:(in his usual defensive way) Why? Why do we need to talk? Why can't we pretend that this whole thing never happened?
Angela: Because it did. And because something has to change now. Things can't go on like before.
Brian: Why not?
Angela: Because now I know that you, you know, and I...
Brian:(interrupting her) Listen, you don't have to say anything. I don't want to listen to a let's just be friends story.
Angela: That's not what I was gonna say.
Brian: So what were you gonna say. Oh gee, thanks for the great letter, but I'd rather jump Jordan so see ya?
Angela: God, Brian, why do you say things like that?
Brian:(a bit ashamed, but still defensive)Because it's, like, true.
Angela: What if I said it's not true? Not at all.
Brian:(for once looking her in the eye) Then what is true.
Angela:(looking straight back into his eyes) Maybe I actually like you.
Brian: Like me?
Angela: Maybe not quite the way you want me too, but enough to say there's a chance that maybe, someday, I could.
Brian:(taking this all in) Someday?
Angela: Meaning we should spend some more time together.
Brian: But what about...
(As he says this Jordan walks up)
Jordan: Hey Angela.
Angela: (tucking her hair behind her ears and breaking her gaze at Brian) Hey.
Jordan: So do you wanna go somewhere and,like, talk or something.
Angela: (after hesitating a bit) Sure. (to Brian) I'll talk to you later.
Brian: Sure, whatever.
Angela and Jordan walk off. Brian stares after them, a look of rejection and a little left-over disbelief at what happened on his face.
