Introduction

Fiction is much more sophisticated than lying. - John Searle

Fan fiction... Right. Well, fan fiction is probably one of the coolest things on the net. No. It's *the* coolest thing, in my humble opinion. Especially the MSCL fan fiction. Because in this way we are able to keep the spirit alive. We have the chance to give the characters we got to love so much a chance to get on with their lives. And I think all the stories in here prove that that just worked out great. Thanks to all the writers and of course to Sascha, who definitely made *my* favorite website.
So I saw all of MSCL in january 1998. For the first time. And I thought it was great. Better than great, actually. All of it was so not-fake, like television is most of the time. Especially highschool-shows. After watching and taping all the episodes I read most of the fan fiction and thought that was great, too. Especially E.R.'s and Shannon's. And then came the moment I wanted to write myself. But, well, like what? Since there were already great episodes that got on from the exact moment where MSCL ended, I didn't think I could add something really good to that. But there *were* other options. Like what Jason did. Putting MSCL together with The X-files, my other favorite show. And since I thought his story was more X than Life, I tried to do it the other way around: MSCL as a starting point.
I wrote the 4 stories during 1998 and 1999 and I liked writing it a lot. Putting X-Files tension to MSCL real life situations. Along the way I found a connection between Angela and Dana Scully and not just because of the red hair. I wanted them to get together and learn from each other. While writing Summer Break I realized that it might be the other way around: Angela is a lot like Fox Mulder and Brian is more like Dana Scully. Well, you can see for yourself. And let me know what you think about it, I'd appreciate it.
And then something about me... Well, here it is. I'm 26 years old, live in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, with the most wonderful girl in the world: Wendy. [To all you guys: she's far more wonderful than Claire... :) .] I am graduated from university. I did film and literature. I used to worke in an arthouse movie theater, but now I teach people about movies (www.stichtingmei.nl), organize filmfestivals for the province of Gelderland (www.skcg.nl), and I work in a bookstore (www.dekker.nl), where I run the Foreign literature section. I love to hike and camp in the mountains (see my hiking-page: home.wanadoo.nl/happyhikers), try to play guitar. What more do you want to know? You can find a real nice analysis of Romeo+Juliet on my homepage (crash.to/romeoandjuliet). I have a guinea pig named Elmer, I'm taking driving lessons, take my coffee with hot milk and one or two sugars...
That's it. Go back to the stories and the poems. Get yourself another mug of coffee, tea or whatever and read...
