DELIA: What, you mean, like, see if he still likes her or?

RICKIE: Yeah, like, ask him about it. Coz, well, without going into too much detail, some events have happened which could have changed his mind. And I know he did like you.

DELIA: Thanks Rickie. But, like, don't tell him I like him, will you? I- I mean, I don't want him to know until I know, if you know what I mean.

RICKIE: Sure. I'll catch him later, okay?

DELIA: Sure.

CUT TO:

(INT.BAND ROOM - LIBERTY HIGH.DAY)

(RICKIE sits reading a magazine, drinking a soda. Enter BRIAN)

BRIAN: Oh, sorry. Is there- I mean, are you having a class or?

RICKIE: (laughs a little) Brian, does it look like I'm having a class? I'm supposed to be in Math.

BRIAN: Oh, well. I'm just gonna, um, practise. My flute. So.

RICKIE: Go ahead. (pause, BRIAN unpacks his flute) Brian, can I ask? I mean, is there anything between you and Angela?

BRIAN: Um, hardly.

RICKIE: (sincere) It's just...well, I mean, I know how much you like her. But maybe it would be better for both you and her, if you moved on. Found someone else.

BRIAN: Wait. Did Angela ask you to say this?

RICKIE: No Brian. Seriously. I mean, is there someone else you like, I mean, what about Delia Fisher?

BRIAN: Delia Fisher hates my entire being. Okay. She doesn't even, like, talk to me.

RICKIE: (considers) But, I mean, are you over Angela?
