Angela: Danielle! What are you doing here?

Danielle: Mom wanted me to return Bernice's mixing bowl, OK? (pause) I hate you! (She runs out of the room)

Brian: (long pause) Um...so are we...like...an official item, or something?

Angela: Brian, why do you always do this to me?

Brian: What? What do I do?

Angela: You put me in awkward situations, like, all the time.

Brian: So, are we? (he takes her hand)

Angela: BRIAN. I need some time to think about this, OK?
(Brian looks as though he's about to cry) Not too long, I promise. I just need to, like, think about some things...like...about Jordan...and about you. I'll talk to you at school tomorrow, OK?

(She leaves and walks across the street to her hosue, glancing back over her shoulder. She walks into the house and up the stairs. Graham and Patty, sitting on the couch, watch her go upstairs. A minute later, Danielle storms down the stairs. Angela is in her room, dialing the phone.)
