(EXT.PORCH.EVENING)
(BRIAN looks like he doesn't want her to go, but nods anyway.)
BRIAN:(softly.) Okay.
(ANGELA half-smiles at him, then turns to go.)
BRIAN: Uh-uh, Angela?
(ANGELA turns.)
ANGELA: Yeah?
BRIAN: Did- did you, like, kind of have a good time, tonight?
ANGELA:(smiles.) We had a time Brian. Didn't we?
BRIAN: (smiles.) Yeah.
(ANGELA smiles, then turns, exits inside. BRIAN waits a beat, then exits.)
(INT.LIVING ROOM - CHASE HOUSE.NIGHT)
(ANGELA, thoughtful, pulls off her coat, walks toward her room.)
ANGELA (VO): So. I went on a date with Brian. And he's happy now. And... and I'm glad that he's happy. Because, sometimes, you can forget, just how you enjoyed someone's company once. Like, they become someone else in your mind, or something. (Beat.) I'm glad Brian's happy. But the thing is, I'm not sure if I like him that way.
(ANGELA dumps her bag on her bed, pulls out a CD, whacks it in the machine. "Lonely For You" by Soul Asylum comes on. ANGELA sits on her bed, thinks.)
ANGELA (VO): I know how much Jordan hurt me, when he did, what he did. How he just.. let me down, like, I didn't exist or something. I don't wanna be like that. I don't wanna... hurt him.
