(ANGELA stares at the leaving CONVERTIBLE, her face crumples, and she cries.)
ANGELA: Just shut up, Krakow.
BRIAN: Hey, all I meant was-
ANGELA: Just shut up. For once in your life. This is not a good time!
BRIAN: Angela-
ANGELA: Don't!
(ANGELA runs back to her house. BRIAN stares after her.)
(INT.FOYER - CHASE HOUSE.NIGHT)
(ANGELA enters, crying, runs upstairs, shuts her door.)
ANGELA (VO): Why does everything, like, *everything* I do end up badly? I must have been, like, cursed at birth, or something. I don't know. All I wanted was to talk to Brian. Why does Jordan Catalano have to leap to this giant conclusion that I'm, like, in love with him. I hate the world.
(INT.HALLWAY - LIBERTY HIGH.DAY)
(ANGELA dumps stuff in her locker, then spots JORDAN. She slams shut her locker, corners him.)
JORDAN: What are you doing?
ANGELA: Why did you leave like that, last night?
JORDAN: Why d'you think?
ANGELA: Well, I think... that you got the wrong impression. (Beat.) I mean, come on, admit it, you thought that I was cheating on you, didn't you? (Beat.) Well, I'm not like that, I'm not like you.
(Beat.)
JORDAN: So what were you doing?
ANGELA: He's my friend. I was talking to him, that's all I was doing. And ...if you can't accept that I will talk to friends, male friends, then... I don't know, maybe we shouldn't stay together.
(ANGELA, fighting tears, stares resolutely at JORDAN. He looks at her, and says:
