We cut to Graham and Patty standing and talking in the kitchen

Patty:You know, I was thinking about Hallie.

Graham(little alarmed):What about her?

Patty: How we should invite her to dinner or something.She must have someone new in her life now, right?

Graham(defensive): I don't know, Patty, we don't discuss that kind of stuff.

Danielle enters the house

Danielle: Hi, daddy, mummy( one kiss for each )
She goes upstairs to her room.

Patty: Okay, you don't have to get so upset.

Graham: No, I'm not upset I just don't see the point in...

Patty(hurt): You know, you're right.I'll just drop the subject.pause. I'm going to work, there's something I need to finish.

Graham( reproachful):You work to hard.

Patty: Well, somebody in this house has to.

Graham(irritated).What's that suppose to mean?

Patty(exhausted with this discussion): Nothing, I just have to go.
