I think Ross is afraid to come here. He's become our human punching bag. Of course, that's his own fault.
If only there were a button somewhere that I could push. To force me to stop talking.

Not to get off track but I'd rather keep the hate focused on AU instead of other posters. :) Everyone's entitled to their approach. Cancel, don't cancel, etc. But for those in the cancel camp with me I recommend the most effective way to strike back against AU is to file disputes for EVERYTHING. Even if you're told by your credit card company that you can't get money back, talk to the supervisor. Then write to them by snail mail which is still more effective nowadays than email.

Then write the Attorney General of California (which I've done) and the Better Business Bureau for the Sacramento area (which I've also done). Basically make it a commercial hell for AU. Since the only language AU can understand it money (i.e. they want ours and will never give it back) I intend to hurt them as badly as I can where it counts. In the bottom line. And if my chargeback is responsible for them getting their merchant account dropped I'll be delighted. I want what's mine back and I want them to pay for their misdeeds.

That sounds like a good subject for a new thread "Share the hate and get nothing from AU". you're right we shouldn't attack each other - after all we are all fans of mscl.

I have explained my position elsewhere. But just to give a super brief summary here - I'm a mom who ordered this set for my daughter. She signed the petition.

I am not a shill for AU. I AM a skeptical customer.

I am also a fan of MSCL ... I have only seen 6 episodes and would love to see the rest.

I can't be all bad now can I?

I called AU last week to cancel my order. I have no doubt it wasn't entered in the system because when I asked how much my refund was I got an angry, "You will get back however much you were charged to begin with." He definitely wasn't entering anything into the computer. I also got this email from Mike, but my account hasn't been credited. My husband is calling AU tomorrow to find out if my order is cancelled. Should be interesting!

My attempt to calm everyone down:

I recieved that same email, but it said to allow 1-3 business days for the request to be processed . . . and if it doesn't show up by then to call AU, again.

I wrote 4 emails trying to cancel my order, then gave up and called. Someone picked up on the fourth call, and they were very helpful and polite. The man I spoke to (foolishly I forgot to write down his name) told me that they are literally getting hundreds of emails CANCELLING orders, and they are so backed-up, as usual, and are trying to process all of the cancellations. I know we have every reason to gang up on AU, but I felt so much better after I called, and I am trying to understand their position. I actually felt guilty talking to that guy on the phone, because so many people are cancelling. He hardly tried to talk me out of it. So, I am trying to be patient. I also called my credit card company about a week ago, so atleast I know they'll take care of it. I suggest everyone do the same.

I forgot to write the highlight of the phonecall! He told me he entered my cancelled order into the computer as we spoke . . . I trust that he wasn't lying . . . I mean, what would be the point?

Been there, done that unfortunately. I've had this conversation many times. The guy on the phone is always apologetic, claiming they have hundreds of transactions to process and they'll get to yours as they can. I would highly recommend that you immediately call your credit company and dispute the charges.

I was told precisely the same thing after the missed September shipping date.

I've made additional contacts with AU and still no refund.

Cate, I do respect your right to post here and disagree with me, but what kind of excuse is there for this?

Of the approximate 360 people who submitted requests to correct double charges and triple charges through the DryGrass.com site (which is, in fact, being accessed by AU.com), we sent out a survey. The survey ONLY went to people who had been marked as PROCESSED by AU. In other words, somebody from AU went in and marked the request as processed. If there was a problem, there was a way for AU to indicate this from their admin form. The survey question was a "yes or no" question:

"Was this double charge corrected by AU.com?"

Here are the current results (as new responses come in, the results update):

Total: 205
Yes: 35
No: 170

17% of people who had their orders marked as "PROCESSED" actually received a credit for the overcharged amount.
