how to go about contacting credit card company...

Post by kate » Sep 4th 2002, 9:18 pm

maybe this question is too simple and i shouldn't post it but i've never been doubled charged nor have had anything like this go wrong in my years of internet purchases (but maybe it's a sign i need to stop buying stuff on the internet, it'll atleast cut my debt). anyway, do i just call my credit card and ask for the forms to be sent to me? i know i was billed again 79.98 on the 13th of august when i had already previously paid this. i filled out the form to anotheruniverse but i haven't heard anything yet. i will give them some more time but judging from everyone else's posts maybe i shouldn't wait too long. thanks for reading.

I'm not double charged up to now. But I'd read someone posted in this forum said he/she had been triple charged.

on your credit card statement you should have a phone number. call them and tell them what happened

my credit card company suggested that I call AU and try to solve it (and giving them 10 days to fix the double charge). if that shouldn't work I have to send them all the material I've got from AU to show them, that I ordered only once but was charged twice.

You might not have to fill out any forms - all I had to do was explain the situation to a rep over the phone. As for how long to wait - that's up to you. My bank has a time limit on disputing credit card charges - it has to be within 60 days of the charge. I considering waiting longer and hoping that AU cleared up this mess, but my overcharge happened on the 25th of July. I didn't want to wait any longer and lose my right to dispute the charge.

Want to know something funny? I basically predicted my own fate. I was triple charged and the guy from comicstore/anotheruniverse admitted this when i called. so i found out was overcharged by almost $200! hahaha. i just find this funny now, albeit frustrating. i'll be angry if i don't get my money back, but for now the fact that i predicted my own fate is rather amusing, in a not so nice way. but yeah, i was charged an additional 115 last month and 79.98 again this month. no wonder my cc bill was bigger than expected. whoa. i have to fill out forms with my cc company because like someone else said i only have 60 days to do that. thanks to the person who mentioned that otherwise i might have not paid attention to this detail. man, where did the $115 come from? it's not even the right price or something that makes any sense. weird.

okay...

alright, i figured out that the 115 is the new price, the one that has the bonus dvd on it. bleh, that makes me more upset.... if i preordered does that mean that i get a bonus disk even if i only paid 99.98 (well technically, i've paid almost $300 as of now, ha)? and what exactly is on said bonus disk? will i even get the lunchbox? if you ask me, those of us who've been overcharged should just get the dang things for free. oh and when i called today the guy at AU said he didn't even know how long it'd take to get the refund from them, "maybe a couple of weeks." okay, i'll stop whining now.

preorder: all episodes, bonus disc, lunchbox, 99.98
normal: all episodes, bonus disc, 115.00

without the people preordering the set there would be no set. So that was just a way to say thank you. Of course that was before the double charges happened

anyway, on the bonus disc they have interviews with the show creators/producers, I think with Snuffy Walden and perhaps a documentation about MSCL (is the Museum of Radio and TV willing to charge a bit less?)
