Angela just sat there, not thinking or feeling. Just being. For the first time in, well, it felt like forever, she actually felt free. And at peace. Things with Jordan Catalono were settled. The soap opera was cancelled. She heard footsteps, and looked up to see Bryan.
Angela VO: It's so strange. If Bryan would have come by a few hours ago, I probably would have, like, slammed the door in his face. Now, I'm actually, like, glad to see him.
Angela: (in a calm tone) Hey.
Bryan: (sort of timid) Hey.
They sit there in silence, and Bryan stares at the ground, sneaking glances at Angela.
Bryan VO: She smells like peaches. Like a peach pie just out the oven. Fresh. God, why do I do this to myself? She's with Jordan.
Angela: What are you doing here?
Bryan: I saw you, and I, like, decided to stop.
Angela: How are you?
Bryan: Fine.
They sit in silence for a few more minutes.
Angela: Bryan, I just had a big thing with Jordan, so if you're looking for another earth shattering event, you should come back tomorrow. I'm sure something will piss me off by then.
Bryan is surprised by how blunt she is. It takes a few minutes for him to process everything.
Bryan: I'd rather just sit here. I like just sitting here.
Angela smiles, and they both sit, at ease now.
After a few minutes, Danielle interrupts them.
Danielle: (flashing Bryan a smile) Mom said she'd be home in a few minutes with dinner, and Dad said to eat without him. It's your turn to set the table. Hi, Bryan.
After Danielle says her reminder she goes inside.
Angela: Well, I'd guess I'd better go.
Bryan: Yeah, I have to get home anyway.
Angela: Well...
Bryan: Well....
Angela: Bye.
Bryan: See ya.
