BMG JUST CALLED ME REGARDING PAYMENT BY ROSS!!!

Post by MartinPierre » Oct 16th 2002, 4:21 pm

The guy from BMG just called me, knowing I was leaving work to keep me informed of what is happening.

Ross is CURRENTLY, as I am writting, on the phone with the accounting department. They are working out the details of the payment.

Apparently, if I understood well, neither will hang-up until the payment is officially completed and everyone is happy. As such, they may stay on the line for a little while to wait for the banks to confirm everything.

Unfortunatly for us, since everyone but the guys at the accounting department about this are leaving for the day, meaning we might only know about this tomorrow morning.

However, before they leave, payment should have been made, and
I will be called around 9h30 EST to confirm if payment was indeed received.

I recommand waiting until tomorrow to declare victory or to abandon.

If Ross had simply said : I sent the wire, call me when you receive it, I would have been skeptical.

But they are staying on the line, to make sure there is NO communication problems.

And I move up one position in the long line of AU debtors. Hey, Ross, you can keep me on the phone line until I'm paid too if that's what it takes. :o

Even if Ross does pay BMG today (which he still technically hasn't according to your post), there is still the matter of the bonus materials which are the ONLY reason not to consider buying from a reputable retailler instead of AU. I do not want to pay more than $60CAN more for the same thing I can get shipped from Amazon, with no additional customs fees or taxes.

I have received NO official word from AU about whether the lunchboxes are being made, when the bonus disc will ship or what is on it, or any of the other conciliatory bonuses that have been mentioned by Ross on this forum (which I am taking with a BLOCK of salt).

I don't care if AU can ship a couple of weeks early. I don't want to be stuck waiting for bonus items which may never materialize while paying 7 months in advance and twice what any person who ordered yesterday from the dozens of legitimate businesses who are carrying this set.

Send out an OFFICIAL email to all your customers today, or you can forget about me being part of this fiasco any longer.

The way I am seeing it is that I waited this long for the DVDs, which is what I wanted in the first place.

I paid months ago an ammount I was ready to pay.

It doesn't matter if I can have it cheaper now, this money was spent long ago.

I would need to be reimbursed AND then order with Amazon.

Plus, with AU I will get my Infinity Gauntlet comic my friends have been raving all about for years....

And might actually get a Tshirt, Bonus disk and lunchbox.

If you read the AP press release, you'll notice that it makes no mention of the lunchbox, just the discs and bonus material. It's sad that the most official information I have is from reading between the lines of a press release.

Especially if the lunchbox is still up in the air - the bonus disc isn't worth THAT much!

Not by a long shot. Even in a best case scenario where Ross pays for the lunchboxes in full today, no one will see them until January at the earliest factoring 6-8 weeks for shipping plus the additional time needed to complete the production. It will only be then that anyone truly knows whether AU will live up to their promise and delivers everything they said they would, which at this point is only officially a lunchbox and bonus disc with no concrete list of contents.

I would not be surprised if AU bails on the bonus disc and lunchbox all together. You will note that there is no mention of any bonus items on your mailed receipt.

I will scream victory when everyone who cancelled with AU have their money back.

For me, it doesn't make a difference if BMG is paid today or not. Actually, I think it is funny to be happy about the fact that BMG is getting paid today, when we were all told that BMG would be paid months ago. Today, Ross admitted lying to all of us. Also, how did he use OUR money, we have no idea... None! When I gave my money, I gave it to Ross for him to send it to BMG not use it for whatever reason. I also think it is pretty funny that they have to work some kind of deal right now since it shouldn't be a problem for BMG to get the money, we gave it to Ross months ago so he should have it. I don't know, I am not happy at all and I guess I will be when I get my money that was stolen from me months ago.

The lunch box and the bonus disc will never see the life. If it does, AU should send it for free. Now, when you look at the prices of other retailers, you actually see that we are paying to get something that we shouldn't pay for. From what we know about the lunchbox and the bonus disc, which let's face is nothing, I don't think it it worth $60 CAN! No way...

I also think AU is trying to make more money out of us with their $30 US gift certifcates because 1) we cannot use it on the boxset and 2) The internationnal shipping cost is ridiculous and I would never use my certificate because of that. So yes, I still don't trust AU and will never... I will be happy when I see my money on my credit card. I cannot believe I really thought this deal was going to be exclusive to AU. I should have known and I should have waited to see it on amazon.ca

It's about 8:30pm in NY, so everyone go take a nap and come back in an hour.

I'm going to yoga so hopefully whatever news is posted in my absence won't upset my chakras.

:D
