cancelled order

Post by dsledman » Oct 14th 2002, 12:27 pm

well, after lurking here reading the posts and waiting and waiting for something good to happen i finalyl said screw it, and cancelled my order today. the guy inb the line was telling me that i shouldtn cancel now cause it had to be soon that it was going to be done. i said i couldnt handle it anymore and that i was cancelling. he also said that they cant give me a confirmation of my cancellation, which i thought was kinda shady. he doesnt know how long it will take for my order to be refunded either.....im jsut hoping it is soon. did the operator try to persuade anyone else not to cancel their order when they called or was it just me?

I've had enough too. Cancelled my order today using the drygrass form and also emailing Ross directly. I haven't heard anything back but I think I might phone them too.

I've also started the ball rolling with my CC company and they said that they need as much info as I can give them in writing (including receipts etc). There was no mention of any 60 day limit and I said that it was as far back as February I was charged. This appeared not to be a problem.

It has pained me to do it as I really wanted to believe this would come off in AU's favour but I can't line their pockets any longer. I realise that I may never see my money again, but at this point I rather think I won't be seeing any DVD set from them either. And certainly not any extras that have been talked about.

dledman,

I, too, was told the same exact things as you were. I called AU the other day and spoke to Wade. What I was told was that the DVD would be shipping "any day now," and that I shouldn't cancel my order because of that. When I told him I wanted to cancel, anyway, he was fine with it but fairly condescending with his tone ... "You must be an idiot to want to cancel when the DVD's coming out in a few days!"

Oh well. I asked him when I would be receiving my refund, and he said that he didn't know how far back the accounting department was; he did, however, note that the accounting department was backlogged. I pointed out how I was double charged, and it took me calling and demanding them to credit my account for them to finally credit it. He wouldn't tell me anything further.

So that was my experience...

I just got off the phone with Wade.

My experience is identical to everyone else's. He told me that the DVD's were scheduled to be shipped "any day now". However, he did admit that he has been saying those very words for the past how many months!

Overall he was very polite and easygoing. I just told him that I was tired of waiting and the more time went on the more the bonus disc and lunchbox were not a concern of mine. Hell, I just want the episodes! Then I made it clear that I wanted to cancel my order.

When I asked about my refund he said that he wasn't sure when I would get it. Apparently, the accounting department is backed up and they are taking their time to make sure all the invoices are done properly. However, my credit card company told me that BY LAW a business has 30 days to refund after a cancellation. So hopefully that will hold true.

I'll let everyone know when I get my credit. Wade told me to just keep calling them until it shows up on my statement. Trust me I will make good use of his suggestion!

Ever think that with most people cancelling (in a relatively short period of time) and deaing with all of the double charges that yes, their accounting dept would indeed be "backlogged"? Keep in mind that the MSCL DVD is not the only thing this company is selling.

I think "backlogged" is probably an understatement.

This is what I said in my message to Ross about my uncredited overcharge:

If your accounting department is understaffed, hire temps while you resolve
these overcharges. If they're not understaffed, then you might want to check
how many coffee breaks they take. I work in an office, and I've put through
credit cards manually. It doesn't take that long to do. One person should be
able to do at least 100 in a day, and that's a conservative estimate. Using
that number, one person working alone could have credited 4000 overcharges in the eight weeks since my account was tapped.

IMO, AU's "backlogged" accounting department is a flimsy excuse to hold onto our money as long as possible.

Ever think that it shouldn't take AU months to refund double charges that shouldn't have happened in the first place? I requested a refund of my double charge *way* before people started mass cancelling their orders, and still don't have it. They created this mess in the first place so I have no sympathy for them.

Their accounting department had no problem billing my credit card in a prompt manner when I ordered, so I see no reason why they shouldn't be equally prompt about refunding the money....

I, on the other hand, am not so sure the this mess is entirely AU's fault.

Did you send your info to Ross last week when he requested that people do that?

Are you blind Cate? Wake up and smell the freakin coffee....there's like a million things that AU has done wrong, including robbing us BLIND, and you're gonna sit there and take up for them? Well, you can sit and wait another year on your little AU set, but I'll be kicked back enjoying them from Amazon FAR FAR before you will ever see them

Well, based on all the information one can glean off of this board, it sure looks like AU is to blame. Jason has repeatedly said that BMG is not at fault. Even if you don't believe Jason, who's double billing my credit card and who isn't refunding my money? Sure looks like AU to me. And yes, I have been in contact with Ross and Wade over the last 3 months trying to get my money back. As other people have mentioned, AU has illegally borrowed money from people who ordered the DVD set and earned interest off of it. It's criminal. End of story.

You must be pretty gullible since you still have faith in AU to produce this so-called product

Has anyone asked Wade why he even still works there? He must be in on it too.
