Bonus Disc & Lunch box not shipping?

Justin Martin reports that the set will start being manufactured & shipped in Sept., but that not all pieces will be delivered at once as originally agreed (custom "lunchbox" case and bonus disc to be shipped "later"...will there be a later?).

I read this post and this is the first I've heard of this. Is this posted here and I missed it? I try to read it carefully, but sometimes you miss stuff.

I knew that the lunch box will be shipping separately, but this is the first time that I heard that the bonus disc will not be ready on time. The manufacturer I recommended for the bonus disc guaranteed completion before September 17. I will ask them to clarify the situation with the bonus disc.

The delays in clearing the artwork for the lunchbox made it necessary to send the lunchboxes separately, otherwise AU would unnecessarily be holding onto the DVDs. With all of the criticism heaped upon AU lately due to order processing problems (much of it deserved), this is one area in which I must come to their defense. The decision to ship the lunchboxes separately, and at their expense, is the right move.

I agree totally. I want the discs. The lunch box seems cool, but I really want the DVDs. I am excited about the bonus disc, but I will be much more patient after I get my hands on the DVDs.

That was the logic here. Everything else is bonus. I can attest to the fact that the lunchboxes are truly, truly being manufactured. I even have some 3D renderings from the manufacturer, which I hope to post soon.

Again, the delays are totally not the fault of AU. I'll blame them when they deserve to be blamed for something, but the lunchboxes in particular were delayed by certain entertainment companies' business affairs departments.

What the hell!
Why wasn't I aware that the lunchboxes were shipping seperately?
Are we still getting free shipping now for both the set when it ships and then the lunchbox? I would sure hope so since it's not our fault and the pre-order before March people were promised free shipping. I don't want my credit card account to be touched again for any extra shipping fees or whatever.

Jason, did you find out yet if the bonus discs are going to be shipping with the rest of the set on the 17th?
I hope so. I don't want to have to receive 3 parts at different times to complete my set that would be a pain.

When are the lunchboxes expected to ship since they aren't going out with the set.

Of course I care most about the set but I was thrilled to have the lunchbox too since I collect lunchboxes.

I really am getting sick of all this s**t.

No offence to Jason, he is just the messenger, but this is a farce.
There are delays. we wait. There are more delays. We wait even longer.
There are STILL more delays. We have to wait even longer again.

Why is red tape totally f***ing up this operation??? I am sick of set-back after set-back and just want the product. How hard can it be to produce a lunchbox at the same time as a set of DVD's to go in them?

If I get the set before Christams 2003 i'll be surprised.

OK, my questions are -
When exactly did the people "in charge" know about this?
And why does it seem like the customer is always the last to know in this situation?
There must be a huge number of people who ordered this product that don't come to this board, so why is there no mass email being sent out? When people recieve their DVD's and there are two things missing, and people have no idea why, it's not going to be a pretty day for AU.
Also, I live in Canada, and people have informed me that I will pay $12 for shipping. Am I going to have to pay this for all three things if they all ship seperately or what? What bothers me about this whole deal the most is not the delays or the overcharges, it's that lack of bloody communication. If something changes, SEND OUT AN EMAIL!!!!

I agree with Hollis. I had no idea that there would be three separate shipments until I read it on these boards. But posting that here would not do any good. AU should be responsible for keeping us informed... not mscl.com.
