MSCL DVD Diary???

Post by Jenjen » Jul 11th 2002, 2:53 am

Hello out there.
I just finished rereading an mass email concerning the production of the MSCL DVD set and it mentioned something about a "diary." That is, a diary of updates on what, when, and how the special DVD set is being processed. Anything new on that? I'm soo anxiously waiting to hear some "great news" about that...like all the rest of y'all fans.

 There most certainly will be a diary. I will first catch a little sleep to make up for last night. I could write a book.

Oh the story this will be....

Oh yes... to say that theres a story is an understatement. Even from this site there is so much that has gone on that just couldn't be mentioned at the time. But for Jason I can only imagine the things he has dealt with... maybe we should make it one big book Jason? I still can't believe I got laid off from BMG and that they didn't believe in my ideas. Blah. In the meantime, those who are still there take 5 months to get me a simple press release. A lot of which, by the way, I wrote and submitted to them.

Entertainment companies should not blame Napster and the like for their woes.

The Diary

Post by NIGHTJESSI » Aug 3rd 2002, 5:58 am

Jason and Mike, I know the release of the DVD set is foremost on your minds now, but I really do think that a book for mass release or at least online release would be a great addition to the MSCL products already out there. Obviously there was a market for the DVDs, and I do think that those who bought the DVDs would also be interested in the road to getting the DVDs. Also, even non-fans of the show would be interested in the process and the part that the fandom played, so hopefully you get a chance to put it all on paper and in a publication that we can all peruse.

I'm not sure, but I think at this point a book telling the true story would open the authors up to charges of slander. ^_^

We could always come up with different names for people and companies. Truman Capote himself would probably blush after reading it, though.

You mean there's no "Making of the MSCL DVD" documentary? That'd be more dramatic than any soap opera.

Yes, Jason, I think changing the names could be the way to go. Then again, a documentary, like dTheater suggested, might be a great addition to the bonus disc. But that would mean that the DVDs would be delayed again and I'm sure no one wants that.
