Well, you asked so I answered. I was just trying to be helpful, not offend anyone.

In fanfiction, you can do whatever you want. So, if you don't really care how old he is then it doesn't matter. Just go with whatever age that fits with your story progression. As long as you explain to the readers how it happened, then I don't see why you can't do it the way you are doing it.
