30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto's band)
Well, when you consider who else they have toured with in the last year (Puddle of Mudd, Incubus, the Exies, etc), I don't think it's a matter of touring with bands that are in a similar classification. Most musical acts don't want to tour with someone that is just like them - the way the record labels look at it, touring is a great way to do cross promotion. Just think of other acts that have opened for each other (No Doubt and Bush, Beastie Boys and Madonna, Michelle Branch and Hanson, Vanessa Carlton and Third Eye Blind) that don't seem similar, don't seem to have the same audience, but have gone on to be very successful, partly due to touring together and finding new fans. In addition, new bands are lucky to go on tour and get exposure so they often don't have a say in who they open for or tour with.
Believe me, I'm not saying that I like all the bands TSTM has played with. I have been to many concerts where the only response that the opening band elicited from me was WTF? Apparently it works - the reason why Britney Spears' first album debuted at number one was because she was the opening act for the *NSync tour and all those little girls went out and bought her album the day it came out. 30 Seconds to MarsJust wanted to say Hi to all the Jared/Shannon & 30STMs fans on the board. Does anyone know when they will be touring again?
You can see my picture with them here: photos.yahoo.com/isjust4robin Cheers! Robin Didnt it take like 3 years for Jared and Shannon to get 30stm off of the ground... I heard they signed a contract in like 1999...
so make the best of this test, and dont ask why
its not a question, but a lesson learned in time its something unpredictable, but in the end is right i hope you had the time of your life Jared Leto in 30 Seconds to Mars videohey i dunno if you guys saw his music video but if you can't recognize him ..hes the one singing on the mic and his brother Shane Leto on drums
heres the video: (copy and paste site on url) http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/videoplayer ... adPN=album
I know they played in London a few summers ago (like a week after I left)
and sometime in the 2002-2003 school year they played in Ventura/Santa Barbara, and this past year they played at the Anaheim House of Blues. Those are the shows I am aware of. I haven't been to their website in ages, but most bands usually have something like a tour history page on their sites. Sometimes I write a little MSCL fanfiction: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1039807/Jody-Barsch
Also, after multiple V. Mars reiterations, and finally a Deadwood movie, still wishing for some continuation of The Riches !
