Anyone get a refund without disputing?

Post by Eliott » Nov 8th 2002, 2:24 pm

I've been reading this board a lot, and have not read about many people that had recieved a refund after cancellation. I posted a similar topic not too long ago.

I cancelled my order shortly after the whole Amazon.com fiasco started. Now my question is how many people have been refunded if they cancelled after the whole Amazon.com thing in early October.

AU keeps saying that they have a shitload of transactions to process, but if accounting is working all day to get these transactions finished, there must be some people that have been refunded.

I am not talking about refunds give through credit card disputes. I'm talking about refunds that AU did on it's own.

Or has everyone that got refunded wiped their hands clean of this bloodbath, and went off to never return in fear that just reading another AU topic might cause another tripple charge?

Please let me know. I'm giving AU the 30 days, after which I inted to file credit card disputes and IFCC claim.

Please let me know. BTW I emailed AU the other day regarding my refund and threatening to file claim with the IFCC and a dispute with my CC, and got this response
I have forwarded your info to the accounting office for review.
We are processing Refunds as fast as we can. It is important to us that we
process every customers refund and overcharge credit. With that said, please
pursure whatever means you feel is necessary to protect your best interest.

Respectfully
Mike

The response you received is utter BS. The latest survey shows virtually no new refunds. They are telling people that they will provide refunds "as funds become available."

I would like to know why overcharge and cancellations funds are not available.

Wow, this probably means that AU doesn't have any money to refund people. The icing on this cake will be reading a press release stating that AU.com has filed for Chapter 11 protection.

With that said, I think I've been to hopeful that AU will do the right thing. I wonder if driving up to their warehouse and demanding a refund will do any good. I think I'll start my claim and credit disputes on Monday.

I'm going to cali in december, if I don't get a refund, I think I just might drive to AU and talk to good 'ol Ross

They sent a similar email with similar excuse to multiple customers, so don't take my word for it. Take theirs.

This sucks so bad. I tried getting a VHS episodes set on eBay and ended up getting screwed by some fraudulant ass and now I've gotten screwed by AU. I cancelled on Oct 12th and still haven't received my refund.
I just want the set:( I've lost so much money on this thing and all I want is to be able to watch one of my favorite all time shows again.....

Refunds

I live in the UK, and paid for the box set with my visa card, and was subsequently billed twice. I e-mailed au on numerous occasions, and geting no joy, (or even a response) from AU, I wrote to my bank and told them of a "Non authorised debit from my acount", they corresponded with which ever bank in the USA debited my card, and within 9 days received a refund from my bank. Just waiting for the box set now....... just have to live in hope
