Just realized why I wasn't in the first batch to ship-- I am an international order (in London for a few months). Sucks. But hopefully they will send out the international ones soon. Please send me my DVDs =]

Will you return the extra set?

Post by Sameritech » Nov 5th 2002, 11:50 pm

Looks like some people will be getting a free extra set from the UPS man this week. Will you return the extra set?

Leave it to AU to send someone two sets when they only ordered and paid for 1 set.

If anyone does get an extra set, do not ever give it back to AU. I think everyone here is owed a free set. And you can definitely sell it on Ebay if you get it, there's no reason not to (unless you or a friend want it). If they've sent it unsolicited, its yours buddy.

there are no extras ready to ship (and if they were they would ship under the same cover), so it looks like you might have received a free copy.

Will I send it back? Well I will under two circumstances.

1. They pay for the return shipping.

2. I get my lunch box, bonus disc, and the we're sorry gifts.

If not, selling it on e-bay should net me about the same amount of money I was cheated out of by keeping my order with AU, if they do not come through with our bonus items.

New Email from AU on Shipping

Post by janita » Nov 6th 2002, 12:00 am

Well - I don't know what the two packages thing means on the UPS tracking site - but I doubt if I'm getting two sets. I only ordered one set -never did cancel or uncancel or anything. I have paid for two though - with my $115 overcharge that still hasn't been credited back.

Perhaps this is how they plan to settle-up with cancelled and doublebilled customers, by sending them extra unwanted sets. Cheaper than refunding money when you consider that those sets are pretty worthless now. The price premium for the bonus disc and lunchbox is now $67, thanks to the incredibly low price at deepdiscountdvd.com. Who's going to pay $67 for a cheap lunchbox and crappy bonus disc (more than 50% of the total price)?

If that is true than i should have gotten another package too. They still haven't refunded my second overcharge. I would rather have my money back, but i would possibly take another set as reimbursement. Atleast i would have someone's xmas gift ready (albeit an expensive one.)

when did you order?

Post by kappster » Nov 6th 2002, 12:36 am

Hey just out of curiosity...for those of you who have gotten a shipping email...what month (approx.) did you order? No email for me and ordered in early March. I want an email too! Hopefully soon.

I did the pre-order thing back sometime in February - right after we were told about the dvd set.

amazon order

Post by kappster » Nov 6th 2002, 1:17 am

Has anyone who ordered through Amazon checked their accounts to see if their status has changed? I have an order through AU and Amazon. My Amazon order says shipping Nov 6 and arriving Nov 8 and has always said those dates. I am curious to see if my status changes to shipped tomorrow. Did any one have a Nov 5 shipping date? I know we all seem to have different dates through Amazon. If anyone has a Nov 5 date, did it change to shipped status?

I ordered June 17th..waited till the (first) "last minute" to order because of prior bad dealings with AU.

But i was also triple charged, so maybe thats why i was included in teh first 1000.... or maybe its alphabetical??? Last name begins with a 'G' if that helps.

Color me thoroughly confused. I ordered the boxset from AU eons ago, and I admit, I can't even remember which credit card I used, and there doesn't seem to be any way for me to find out from them! As far as I know, they did not charge my credit card (I have just gone over all my cc statements for the past year to confirm this). Just to be extra sure, could someone please let me know which month it was when AU started billing or double-billing people? Thanks.

I have tried emailing AU several times in the last month or 2 to ask what's going, but never got any reply. Imagine my shock today when I got 2 emails, saying the dvds have shipped. Each email shows a separate tracking number, and when I checked at UPS, it says:
-------------
UPS has received shipper's billing information electronically. Billing information received does not indicate shipment pickup or drop-off. Please contact the shipper for more details.
------------
This seems to indicate, they have not actually shipped?? Out of curiosity, I called all my cc companies to see if any charges from AU have shown up and so far, nothing.

If you got the email from AU, did they charge your cc? And what was the amount? I'm not sure what I should do now. Cancel the order + the other one I didn't make? Wait and see if a charge shows up? I was actually going to cancel my order and get it from someplace else. Any suggestions?

Also, the bonus disk and extras the email said would be shipped later (and I'm leaning towards skeptical here)....this is only available if you buy through AU? Thanks.
