Why I still trust (somewhat) AU...

Post by neppie » Oct 25th 2002, 8:03 pm

I phoned AU several months ago (the previous time they thought the DVDs were close to shipping) because I'd moved and wanted to be certain they had my new address. I'd sent several e-mails prior to calling and never received a reply. Good thing I called, because they still had the old address.

I believe it was the eminently reasonable Wade that I spoke to. In reviewing my order he informed me that I'd been a victim of the double charges. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I wasn't aware of it until then. My immediate reaction was elation... a feeling akin to finding a $100 bill in an old coat pocket. Wade said he was a passing a note to the accounting department and that I should expect a refund. Woo hoo!

Now I'm as angry as the rest of you that the money hasn't been refunded. It is like stealing. However, because AU could have not mentioned the double charge, I still retain some hope that they are not dishonest, only incredibly inept.

At this time there's no point in canceling. I'll either get the DVDs (possibly even the extras) or I won't. I have no faith I'll ever see a refund if I cancel. If weeks go by and I still haven't received merchandise then I'll buy the DVDs elsewhere and persue the complaint options Jason has provided.

The evidence in this forum strongly indicates the doublecharges were deliberate. It's not like stealing, it IS stealing.

... and yet you still trust AU somewhat?

Bless you neppie,

You have trust with AU. An admirable quality if a bit misplaced in this case. Have you considered that if you order with someone like Amazon you will at least be guaranted receiving the DVDs you want in your lifetiime.
