Acting (Classes)

Hey guys and girls,

Not sure where I got this idea (or do I...), but I decided that maybe I want to take an acting class. I'm pretty shy, so I've always thought that of all the arts, this is probably the one I could do least well, but now I'm starting to think that I might actually be able to overcome that.

On the other hand, I don't know how to pick a class, or whether it should be a class at all or some other form, if any other form of learning to act exists.

Has anyone here taken an acting class, or is anyone perhaps an actual actor? If any case, please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I got lazy and didn't do it, but I still haven't given up on that idea. I'd be a little scared to actually join a group given that I have no experience, but there are classes at both a local theatre and a local university that I'm considering.
