What Does She Mean?
What Does She Mean?I was just watching "Self-Esteem" and had a question about something I heard. When Angela, Rayanne, and Sharon go to Pike Street to hear Buffalo Tom, Rayanne says "See, I told you. You just have to put your thumb over the picture." What does she mean?
"He flopped on the floor uncontrollably, okay? Rickie had to hold down his tounge..."
"...And I wasn't even there!"
When using a fake ID, or someone elses ID where you do not look like the person in the picture. You place your thumb over the picture so the information says you are of age and the bouncer never notices that it isn't your ID and lets you in.

Most bouncers would probably ask you to take your thumb off of the picture though.

Patty: If Rayanne's not seeing you, and we're not seeing you, who is seeing you? Graham: And how much of you? Angela: Dad! Graham: Oh, I'm sorry! I asked a question about your life, didn't I? Woah, what came over me? http://www.last.fm/user/TomSpeed/
You might be surprised at how many places wouldn't though. There are always clubs that are known at the high schools for letting in underage kids - as long as you have an ID that says you are the right age, they don't care. I got into one using a guy's ID. I put my thumb over the picture and apparently the bouncer didn't care that my name was John.

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer. You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?
Being a college town, the bouncers get money from the police for each fake ID they collect so some of the bars are pretty tight on who they let in unless you happen to know the bouncers working that night. But in many places they don't really care.

Clemson used to be one of the top 10 party schools in the country. The bars across the street from campus only checked IDs when the state police were in town. They were always tipped ahead of time. Since it's fallen down in the rankings some since I graduated, I think things might have changed a little.

Monatana State has been in the top 10 a few times and one of the dorms has been featured in High Times Magazine occationally, what an honor

Heh. my personal favourite was the ISIC card (international student identity card) which had a photo and your age. But whoever designed those really didn't think too hard as it was basically a couple of bits of peel-back plastic. You could very easily peel back the bit that had your age underneath, scratch off one digit of the year (which was sort of stencilled on and not very securely) and change it with a pen.
Bouncers had to be looking REALLY closely to catch it, and I don't know one kid at my school who didn't get into a ton of places that way... ![]() --------------------------------------------- http://www.urban-hills.blogspot.com --------------------------------------------- Who is onlineUsers browsing this forum: No registered users and 2 guests |
