ballroom music in Dancing in the DarkIn search of a song title...Hi Everyone,
I have been searching forever for the music that is playing in the background in Episode 2 of My So-Called Life. The music plays in the scene when Angela is walking out to Jordan's car to pick up the fake id and you can hear the patty and graham's dance instructor's voice in the background saying "remember to smile." The music sounds kind of like Gershwin, but I am really stuck as to what it was. If you have any idea please let me know and I would be very grateful! [/b] The background music is composed by W.G. Snuffy Walden (who wrote the score for the entire show) if I remember the correct scenes. That song is not available for purchase. But he has published a CD ("music by...") which features some of his other work from "MSCL" and other TV shows (OAA, West Wing, thirtysomething, the practice...).
ballroom music in Dancing in the DarkI haven't seen the show in a very long time, so please forgive my poor memory.
Earlier today, I was thinking of a song. It is an old jazz song played partly on piano and partly on what I think is a brass instrument. No lyrics. Very specific, eh? Yes, I know. It's terrible. Only through humming the tune could I better explain, but unfortunately, that doesn't work all too well over the internet. I've been thinking about this song all day when I remembered that it was once in the background of a My So-Called Life episode. Angela's parents (I think) are dancing, and somewhere else, she is preparing to meet with Jordan. The dance instructor's words are mirroring the difficulty Angela is having in dealing with the Jordan situation. The song in question is playing in the background. Can anyone help me with the title and artist? Every so often, I think of this song. Usually when I'm daydreaming about film noir protagonists. Yet, I don't know how else to find out what it is without cornering a music professor and start humming the melody. ![]() I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
