Where is the solid, straight-up info from AU and BMG?

Post by So-Called Loon » Oct 5th 2002, 12:19 am

The more i read and the longer i wait, the more i think those of us who stepped up and pre-ordered the disks so they would actually be produced are getting a royal reaming! :x

I receive an email quieting my fears with a comforting email to say the disks, at least, are shipping (9/17). They don't. I call AU for the second time (as well as several emails) to ask "Where's my money?" and i'm told the overcharge is being processed. It wasn't!

(And I'm STILL waiting to be reimbursed that nasty $115 charge clear back on July 23rd which overdrew my account!!)

Conflicting dates, conflicting prices, a lunchbox and bonus disk that will ostensibly cost $45, and downright crappy service.

Really reeks.

Just wait until after all our sets ship (sometime in 2023). I give AU a week (if that) before they drop the price so they can compete with Amazon.com.

Or knowing how they work they will drop it now and tell us tough luck.

What gets me is that it was mentioned in another post that amazon is selling this for close to wholesale. Which would mean that for everyone here who paid 115 +shipping it was a $50 mark up AT LEAST. Not counting all the double and triple charges (and im sure there are a few out there that werent caught by a customer).

Now lets just say 3600 people ordered the set through AU, at a $50 (we will round it all to that because im sure its larger for the 115 price and probably about accurate for the pre pre pre order price) markup thats a nice profit of roughly $180,000 at least.

Barely breaking even my ass. Lets not even count all the extra money they get in shipping to Europe or even Canada...

"ever get the feeling your being cheated?"

Did AU have to pay to get all the clearances and all that? Because that would take a chunk out of that $180,000. Amazon doesn't have to do anything but sell the thing; AU had to do a lot of the work. They didn't seem to do it all that well :? , but it still costs money. I dunno.
so says Sparx.

Yeah, not that I'm one of them, but do get pretty concerned for other's when I see the Ross has to come on this site to ask for a list of who got double charged. You'd think AU'd be on the ball enough to figure that out themselves. He's probably just double checking...but I just know there's hundreds of people who have no idea this website exists, let alone the forum. These poor people are still completely in the dark on this, since AU doesn't send out ANY mailers, even when promised. This goes back to the point of "Why should it be the customers responsibility to fix a companies f*ck up?". It shouldn't be, but it sure looks like it is when AU can't do a refund within a month (how lame is that...I feel sorry for the people who are still out money.)

But, like I said, I'm not one of those people in the dark, and I have been refunded. Ross even finally emailed me and said my orders ok as of this point. I just worry for others.

i guess once again as the people waiting for the discs we have to take the back seat once again and wait to see what happens, but it would be real freeking nice to see AU take control and get this shiznit straightened out FAST.
