I've jumped ship as well.
I put down that I have been in contact with my credit card company who will be pursuing this fraud. Surprisingly I have just received several e-mails saying that the overcharge query I made back in August has now been read.

My credit card company have been excellent and have said they will fight for my money back.

I've now re-ordered with my regular R1 supplier.

I will be sorry to miss out on the lunchbox and bonus disc (if they exist) but I am just sooo fed up with the whole situation I felt I've finally had enough.
I just want a refund of everything they've charged me and then try and forget the name "Another Universe".

I just hope that if/when Jason pursues another DVD project he doesn't use AU.

I informed Ross (direct e-mail to his address) of my cancellation on October 14th. I also stated that I was still waiting for a $115 over-charge to be resolved. I threatened to file complains with both the FTC and the IFCC if I hadn't recieved at least one of these refunds in 14 days. I was very reasonable.

I just checked my credit card account and guess what? $115 credit from thecomicstore.com!

However, the transaction took place on October 11th and was posted on Oct. 14th, so my e-mail may not have had anything to do with it. My e-mail may never have even been read and my cancellation may never be processed. I e-mailed Ross a few weeks ago when he posted his request for over-charge info. Perhaps I just got lucky getting a refund. I'm happy to get half of my money but am still completely suspicious and untrusting of AU no matter what happens. It's too late to excuse things if all money is refunded.

I figure in the extremely off chance that the bonus disc is actually made, it will circulate through the internet. And as soon as I get my new credit card (cancelling my current one since I can't trust AU with that information), an order with Amazon will be placed and I'll be good to go.

I still hope -- but don't expect -- to get my $99.98 refunded. It seems the refunds have been handled as randomly as the over-charges were made. Good luck to whoever is still waiting for money. I honestly don't think there's anything anyone can do to speed up that process except hope to be one the fortunate few.

Adendum: Forgot to mention that a little under a month ago, I filed a dispute with my credit card company on the $115 over-charge. Asie from an automated response, I never heard back from them, so I don't know if that had anything to do with me getting the refund or not.

Also, I have not recieved any reply to the two e-mails I've sent regarding cancellation. I know people are wondering if these e-mails are even being read. It seems some people get lightning-quick responses from Ross and others get completely ignored.

I have been been checking in this forum every now and then but do i understand this right now that after tomorrow i will probly get a mass mailing about not getting the disk and how i should try to get my money back? has it really come to that finally cause i didnt really want to read through a thousand posts. Im tempted to order the amazon one figuring ill get that before ill get the au one.....what do you guys think i should do?

Dennis, it is up to you. This situation has gotten so nutso that it is just beyond reason. I remember reading posts back in the early early days of this whole project where people were freaking out about paying for the DVDs up front, and I remember feeling SO confident that this project was totally legitimate and wonderful. The fact that it has turned into such a fiasco has been an eye-opening experience for me. I remember Jason saying a looooong time ago that if anotheruniverse was indeed trying to scam us, they would have to deal with a mighty team of lawyers from BMG. (I wonder if this is still the case, or has the fact that other retailers are now able to sell the DVD affected possible legal action by BMG?) I just can't believe that it has come to this. Everyday I come to this forum and go between sadness, anger, and disbelief.

I am one of the people who really wanted the bonus disk and lunchbox (the bonus disk especially). I mean, it totally would have been worth 30 dollars to me... I am a sucker for commentary by the directors/creators of things. For that reason, I was willing to stick with AU for a while. However, last week, on top of everything else, I realized just how badly I have been treated as a customer. I was overcharged 115 dollars in JULY, and I have yet to see that money after NUMEROUS phone calls. I paid with a debit card, and it occurred to me that AU may feel safer jerking me around because I DON'T have a credit card company that can dispute the charge. I feel like AU has stomped on me with a dirty, muddy boot. I feel taken advantage of, and I feel angry. I sent an email to ross on Friday cancelling my order based on my feelings. I don't want to support such a rotten, filthy company. I'm not sure if I will EVER see my $204.89 again. I dread calling AU and harrassing them because I get the same bullshit answers every time. I remember sitting there listening to Wade spout AU's lies and feeling better. Oh well. Those days are long gone.
As a consumer, I have had a wake-up call with this experience, and I will never, ever, ever, ever buy anything from a little-known online retailer, EVER EVER again. I will never trust anyone that I purchase products from ever again. And that's too bad, because there are honorable people out there, like Jason. But, in a way, Jason's trust and faith in this project have been his downfall as well. AU has been bullshitting him everyday for the past 9 months or so. Sigh. I keep trying to tell myself that its just money, and even if I don't get it back, its JUST money. And I am so thankful that these DVDs are available from Amazon now. At least I will get them. Honestly, back when it looked like the DVDs would never be made (and Jason was battling it out with BMG) I probably would have paid 270 dollars for them as long as I wouldn't starved as a result
I just can't help my blood pressure from rising everytime I log onto this forum though.
