Bess Armstrong in Jaws 3-D (1983)
Bess Armstrong in Jaws 3-D (1983)Now I'm not a big fan of the JAWS movies, but still had a movie marathon this weekend. I was really surprised to see Bess Armstrong. She's in one of the most successful 3-D movies of all time.
For those of you who haven't seen it, the movie takes place in Sea World. It's an awful movie with an impossible ending. So go check it out on DVD for Bess Armstrong and complete absurdity. The picture quality is crappy though. The 3-D process does not transfer well to home video. "Gee, you're beautiful when you're unconscious."

I agree, this movie is awful. My dad recorded it for me off of the satellite TV they had at his work when I was a kid, and since we didn’t have cable, I watched it more times than I can remember. The scene I will never forget is when Jaws is swimming towards the control room window. Her tail moves once to the side and then back to center (such a realistic swimming motion), and her mouth slowly opens. I could make it look better with a rubber shark on a stick. I’ve forgotten the how the sharks in all the movies are related. This is the mother in this movie, were the others in 1 and 2 her kids. And does that make the one in Jaws 4 the father?
From a review at Movie Goods: The first movie is a timeless classic, the rest are just recycled parts. "To come to your senses, you must first go out of your mind." - Alan Watts
Have you read the books of 1 and 2 by Peter Benchley? They're actually really good...the character development is impressive, particularly in the first one. Quint features much more and they changed the ending in the film. I think the shark in the first is the father of the one in the second, but beyond that, I have no idea.
He stopped writing them after the 2 initial books though, which is probably why they became progressively worse... I too hated the 2nd, 3rd and 4th films, tired old rubbish that they were. --------------------------------------------- http://www.urban-hills.blogspot.com ---------------------------------------------
The first. I actually preferred the ending in the film though, for once. Do you want me to tell you what happens in the book?
