Here is brief summary of the plot.
“Chris Hughes (Paul Walker), Andre Marek (Gerard Butler), Kate Erickson (Frances O'Connor) and David Stern (Ethan Embry) are four college students working on an ancient medieval site in France. When their head Professor, Edward Johnson (Billy Connoly) goes missing, they are whisked off to America by a strange company known as ITC. The president of the company, insomniac Robert Doniger (David Thewlis), tells them about a new type of machinery he's created. A machine that can transport people to other dimensions in different timelines. Professor Johnson has been stranded in the same site that the students are working on, just 500 years in the past! Now, as Hughes, Erickson and Marek travel back to rescue him, Stern stays back to find out what Doniger's really plotting.”

I don't know. ...starring Paul Walker? Hope they don't butcher it like they did Sphere. Possibly the best book and worst movie ever.

Airframe would make a good movie.

I’m not sure about Paul Walker playing Chris Hughes either. If he tries to be the assertive go-to guy he normally plays for this movie, he’ll be a horrible Chris Hughes. In the trailer they tell Chris that they are going to get his “father” back. I’m not sure if they are referring to the Professor as being a father figure after his parents died or if they changed the story, because Chris never refers to the Professor as his father in the book.

I agree about Sphere, it’s my favorite book and I’ve read it at least 5 times, I lost count. The movie had great actors but just didn’t do the story justice, there is so much head play in the book that they just don’t have time to get into on the big screen. Congo flopped too, the laser gun they added to the story was too much. It’s a story about the class between the civilized part of man and the animal side, not about technology and lasers. There are some high tech toys in the story, but that’s not what it’s about and not what should dictate the outcome of the story. Crichton’s stories are never solved with technology, the natural or human element of the situation always overrules. That’s part of his charm, the stories are laced with advanced technology, but they are never solved by “more power to the engines” or by inventing a new gadget.
