Discussion for Episode 1: the Pilot
Re: Discussion for Episode 1: the PilotRegarding the Felicity comparison: I found an even earlier and just as obvious "borrow" from MSCL. It's in season 1 of Felicity when she's considering having sex with Noel. She walks through either a dining hall or lobby and has almost the exact same realizations about sex that Angela does when she's thinking about having sex with Jordan. It's the whole, he has sex, she has sex, they could be having sex together right now but that Angela does in her head.
Re: Discussion for Episode 1: the PilotHi guys, i'm a new fan of my so called life and i'm write from Italy( so....sorry in advance for my bad english) last year i found out Once And Again, maybe the best family drama ever..so i wanted discover other stuff from Zwich and Herskovitz. I am now at the episode six "the substitute" and i love already all of this series, it's pure gold.
In my opinion the Pilot is the best and effective first episode ever produced on television! The writing is sharp, the acting even better, (Claire Danes is magnetic) the direction of Scott Winat is so suggestive and very cinematographic and.. the music of Snuffy Walden my god....amazing! All the intro with the voice over of Angela in the School is stunning also thanks to the music! And the ending with the REM in the background and Angela and Brian looking each other across the street? Perfect, this Pilot is perfect! In the last weeks i watched this episode maybe thirty times Grade: A+ "Or something'
