Another overcharge storyAnother overcharge storyI ordered my set on 5/17 and my credit card was charged $115. Much to my surprise, I was again charged $115 on 7/8. The icing on the cake was a THIRD charge of $79.98 on 8/16. AU is now in to me for over $300 for a product I am still waiting for.
I have emailed customerservice@anotheruniverse.com. I have emailed mike@anotheruniverse.com. I have emailed ross@anotheruniverse.com. No replies from any of them. I have emailed jasonr@mscl.com who suggested I fill out the customer service form. I did so on 8/22. On 8/27, I received an email from msclproblems@drygrass.com at 9:32:13 saying "my problem was read." I received a second email, from mike@anotheruniverse.com, also at exactly 9:32:13, saying "my problem had been processed." I found it a bit odd that my problem had been read and processed simultaneously, but I don't know what their setup is. In any event, as of 9/6, I have not received a credit on my Amex. I was left with no choice but to initiate a chargeback on the $194.98 in overcharges, since all such actions must be done within 60 days of the charge appearing. I am quite sure that the original $115 (which I can no longer charge back) is lost forever, since AU is sure to cancel my order when they get the chargebacks from Amex. I have bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from dozens of different vendors on the Internet over the last six years. I have NEVER had to initiate a chargeback in all of these hundreds of transactions. I have NEVER seen a vendor that simply IGNORED emails. How can these people actually be in business?? I'm with ya...Man, I hear ya. I looked over my mastercard statement last night and was astonished to see a new $80 charge from these bozos. How long ago did I order this damned thing? I printed out a confirmation claiming that my order was paid in full MONTHS ago.
At least I was only being charge 180 bucks for my set..... Seriously, who are these scammers? I've never even heard of such epic unprofessionalism. I'm a person who does not get a lot of free time, and to spend it digging through records and receipts because of some a**hole's incompetence or dishonesty cheeses me off!!!!
Huh, I got that reply the other day. It said my problem had been read by Jason. I suppose any attention for my overcharge is good, since I never got the automated reply from Mike, but I thought Jason couldn't do anything directly about individual complaints, especially now that he officially distanced himself from AU. Anybody know what this means? I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure.
