Amazon Vs AU - what I plan to do.

Firstly I'd like to say I have nothing personal against anyone from AU and I have nothing but respect for Jason who strikes me as honest and dependable. Kudos.

I thought I'd share my own personal game plan as far as the shameful treatment I've had at the hands of AU - (still advertising themselves as the EXCLUSIVE retailer for MSCL DVD collection.)

As part of the Customer Bill of Rights AU offer a full refund if you are not completely satisfied. I'm going to wait and see if AU do the right thing by those of us that pre-ordered and if not I will return the set and order from Amazon. I'd love to think that other people might do the same ; the idea of AU having 2-3 thousand DVD sets returned to them fills me with glee.

Then I'm going to go to every comics forum message board I can find and ask anyone thinking of ordering from AU to come here and read about this debacle before trusting AU with a cent. (or penny in my case as I'm in the UK) I will post links here to the comics forums I hit If I'm allowed, so anyone else that thinks the public should be fore-warned can join in.

Then I'm going to contact every comic/merchandise collecting magazine I can think of and suggest they run a feature on AU and how dependable they are.

I have no problem with the set being late - a project of this nature is bound to be problematic - but if I hadn't found this forum months ago I'd have been clueless about what was going on. I've had one single email from AU about this - and that was lacking in information and seemed only to be softening me up for the "order this MSCL T-shirt now before it sells out" follow up. (I'm still waiting for a response to my 4 emails sent to their customer department after being overcharged $40 for posting my tee-shirt, but that's another story!)

Should AU treat us with any respect over the final price of the set I'll take my dvds and put this (and them) out of my mind for good -otherwise I'll waste another few hours of my life trying to ensure that AU get all the bad publicity they deserve. They have earned it.

I hope other people feel strongly enough about this to do the same. I'll keep you posted.
