Questions for Bedford Falls!Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! How did you originally come up with each of the characters? Did you basically conceive of the entire character and his/her development from the start, or did they change and develop as the series progressed?
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! Two questions here:
1) There are quite a lot of hard feelings among Bedford Falls fans about ABC. How do you feel about that? Do you think that ABC has given your shows all the support it could? Would you consider moving to networks that have shown more commitment to quality shows, such as HBO ("Six feet under") or WB ("Buffy")? 2) Since MSCL was cancelled, we have started to see a number of more sophisticated teen TV shows where one could trace its influence: "Felicity", "Buffy", "Roswell", even "Dawson's creek"... What's your favorite one among them? In your opinion, which aspects of MSCL have had the most influence in these shows? (Or, another way to phrase it: if you sat in front of a TV and started watching any of those shows, what would make you jump and say "hey, we did that first!"?) Re: Questions for Bedford Falls!A few more I just thought of:
3) Here in Spain we have only seen half of the 1st season of "Once and again" (and even that was butchered by the TV channel... but that is a subject for another rant). From what we have seen so far, though, there are obvious echoes of the Angela-Jordan relationship in the relationship between Grace and Eli. Have you used the teenage characters of "Once and again" as a "second chance" to explore themes that you'd have liked to touch with Angela and Jordan? Are there any storylines in it that you planned originally for MSCL? 4) I've heard often the opinion that MSCL was a show "ahead of its time". If it were to debut now, do you think it would stand more of a chance to survive? 5) Was Corey Hellfrick introduced as a potential love interest for Rickie in the 2nd season? 6) And of course... Brian or Jordan? Paulo.
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls!1) Was there a reason for the number '3' being used so much in the show?
2) Did Claire Danes not wanting to do any more episodes lead the shows demise in any way? 3) Did you put any hidden references to people you knew into the show? 4) Do you ever look at http://www.mscl.com and if so what do you think Thanks Richard Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! My Question: Was there any significance around the setting of the show being in Pittsburgh, PA? What led to the decision to use this location in the show?
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! For everyone: What was, in your opinion, the biggest reason that MSCL did not return for a second season?
For Herskovitz and Zwick: I'm always excited to see an MSCL alumni on another Bedford Falls show, i.e. Devon Gummersall on Relativity or Devon Odessa on Once and Again. Do you make a conscious effort to keep a working relationship with actors you've worked with before? Do you write parts specifically for someone you've previously worked with, or does the character make you think of someone as being right for the part? For Winnie Holzman: Why was the cheerlader crying? - jim Kaytee Bodle: Girl With Guitar http://girlwithguitar.0catch.com/ Re: Questions for Bedford Falls!Where do you think the main characters of the series would be now? In your opinion, what happened to them in the mean time?
Thorsten Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! Was the second season in a concrete state, when the series was cancelled? Did there exist any written material or storylines how the next season should be?
Thorsten Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! If the series would take place in the present, would you change something?
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! Was the casting very difficult? How many actors were in the casting process? Could you tell any names of possible candidates, we know?
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls!Claire Danes was one of the youngest on the set, but her work seemed very professional. Was she so mature from the very beginning or is it grown through making the series? What do you think were the special things, that made her and the others acting so credible?
Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! In addition to the question above:
Do you feel that there was still a lot you wanted to do with the show? Did you use any of these ideas in your subsequent films or tv series? Re: Questions for Bedford Falls!I’ve got eight years of questions here so please excuse the length of this post.
Do you think that Rickie living at Katimski’s had anything to do with the cancellation of the show? Didn’t the series finale get a large viewer increase? If so, why did the show still get cancelled? Was Kyle going to be outed as gay? He looked pretty into Rickie’s dancing. Do you think Amber is a bad mother? Can you tell us what might have happened in episode 20? In your opinion, is Angela secretly glad that Rayanne had sex with Jordan so that she could ostracise her for it because she felt uncomfortable around Rayanne because of Rayanne’s drink problem? Why are all the actors names in alphabetical order in the credits except for Tom Irwin? How come Shane always carried drumsticks around but wasn’t the drummer in Frozen Embryos? He actually implied he was an Embryo but then wasn’t. Is it okay if I call my band Frozen Embryos? Re: Questions for Bedford Falls! Here are five questions. (Well the more you ask the more likely they will answer that question by coincidence and make you feel special) So here goes.
1) Which episode is your favourite? 2) Which relationship between two particular characters is your favourite? 3) What did you do with Jordan’s car? 4) Are you still disappointed that the show was cancelled? Or are you just glad it was so good however briefly? 5) Did the title of the finale, “In dreams begin responsibilities” come from the story by Delmore Schwartz? What does the title mean to you?
