Please respond truthfully and remember this isn't scientific and the results may be biased. Thanks. -Kenny

I just want to clarify - I was not overcharged because I paid by personal check.
Brian, we're not talking about wallpaper here, are we.

Don't forget those of us who reported double charges to our banks/CC companies! I got provisional credits back in my account from my credit union, and called Wade so he knows, but have not been billed again for the set...yet.

waiting 4 weeks or more

Post by pgh kenny » Sep 24th 2002, 8:05 am

I am a little disturbed that so many people have been waiting 4 weeks or more for a refund, especially since others received refunds relatively quickly. Clearly, we are all not being treated equally.

I have not been overcharged. But if I keep saying that, I will jinx myself. So no more polls about this for Megs.

Just wanted to point out that 21 of the 32 people who took the poll have been over-charged. That's about 66%.

No matter what happens in the end -- if everyone gets their discs and everyone gets their refunds or completely the opposite -- AU needs to be shut down by law. This is just too much ineptitude for a company to continue operating. Imagine if they were dealing with people who weren't as desparate for their product as we are.

I never got evercharged one penny :D

I'm just waiting for the DVDs to arrive now. If you think about how long
we have waited for them to get this far, what's a while longer?

It's like a very long tunnel but we're definetly nearly there, you can almost
see the light and smell the fresh air.

Thanks everyone for responding to the poll. I think it is very helpful to know what is going on and that people are in fact receiving refunds.

If you have voted yet and aren't registered on the forum, now might be a good time to register, vote and participate.

BTW, to the person who received a refund in less than a week, have you thought about playing the lottery?

i've been doublecharged, and i can't phone since i'm in France, i wrote several emails but never got answered, so i know my problem is processed, but i still don't know when i'm supposed to get a refund.

I'm sad about this... but happy to get the dvd (well i'm still waiting but i'm still confident ... I WILL receive them...)

I have also written emails and cannot phone. I called my bank as i thought it was a fraudulant transaction. I am glad i videoed the series when it aired in 1997. my videos are a little worn tho! :(

web based polls usually aren't treated very seriously since the group responding is self-selected. those of us who responded were motivated enough to vote and also take the time to register a user name. however, the results have been very consistent for the duration of the overcharge poll. from the start about 65-68% of voters indicated that they were overcharged. of those who were overcharged, only a few had received refunds as of the time they voted.

whatever our beliefs about anotheruniverse.com - if the poll accurately reflects what happened - au has an administrative nightmare on their hands. i don't feel sorry for them in the least and the mistake was probably preventable - but i sure wouldn't want to have to process 1,500 or more credits.

I got my refund

Post by JodyK » Sep 30th 2002, 8:27 pm

I contacted Wade shortly after I was overcharged in August. (I was originally billed in June, then again 2 months later.) He said to send copies of everything I had from my bank. I paid by my debit card--big mistake--so it ended up bouncing 3 checks, which my bank charged me an additional $75. I sent my copies by certified mail, and before I even got the little green card back, my account was credited the $115 they charged me plus the $75.

Yeah, but what about your reputation/credit with the people/companies that you bounced the checks with?
