UK? AU CC authorisation code.

Post by zero » Nov 7th 2002, 6:35 pm

Can anyone confirm for me that the AU billing shows up on your CC or debit card statement as ""Comics - Comix"

And while I'm here - having gone through the motions of filling out the Drygrass & IFCC & asking my bank to dispute the charge I'm going to try getting a few consumer rights groups to hound AU.

Im based in the UK and if anyone else here in blighty wants to join forces (i'm currently trying to get my $$ back after cancelling the DVD set and get AU to explain why they charged me $60 postage on my MSCL t-shirt) then leave me a blip here and I'll get in touch. United front and all that.

It will give me something to do while i (quite happily) wait for the amazon release date -

Z.

Hey,

Well, mine showed on my cc as 'TheComicStore.com' and in fact it might be a very good way of getting your money back from the credit card company - tell them you ordered from AU, not anybody else...
dunno - apparently it has worked for some people.

My CC company tells me that I have to give AU 30 days following my cancellation before I can claim a chargeback from them. It's coming up, and oh boy am I going to love writing that letter...

Also, not quite sure how you managed to pay $60 for shipping the t-shirt. I also wanted to order the t-shirt but then when I went through the motions and saw the ludicrous shipping charge I closed the browser and didn't order. Did the shipping charge not show up in the section where they total up the costs of your order?

:)

I think my billing was from "thecomicstore.com" as well. I cancelled about 2 weeks ago, and I've e-mailed AU twice this week already. I only need my original money back, I wasn't double charged or any of that rubbish.

Somebody suggested a method you can use to call AU but at UK national rate, can't remember the website you use, but it's down the forum somewhere.

starbug - since they were very vague about the exact cost of shipping and hinted that it might be free i went ahead to see what the total would be - and authorised my CC for that amount (t shirt + minimal shipping)

I have their email confirmation of the amount, and then they billed me for around $60 more than that.

I've reported it to all the usual places - now I wait, owner of the most expensive t-shirt in history.

Actually, you might not be owner of the most expensive t-shirt in history, but exactly the same thing happened to me! And I'm still trying to get the money back for that. Contrary to what AU say, the website and numerous confirmation e-mails (and I have a copy of the order screen too) quite clearly state that there wouldn't be a shipping charge at all, nevermind the hilarious amounts they actually charged.

I cancelled my order for the DVD too, a few weeks back, and unsurprisingly nothing has happened. So they owe me like $140. My billing was for 'thecomicstore.com' too (I'm England).

My e-mail is in my profile if anyone wants to talk to me.
