If I were you I wouldn't start anything until the money was securely in my account. Just cause he sent you a letter, doesn't mean the check is in there, and even if there is a check, the amount may not be what was agreed upon. I know you know all this.

Given Ross's track record, I fully expect the cashiers check to be less than agreed upon, if there's really a check at all.

Hi Robert - I took the weekend off from the wiretap

Any confirmation that the cashiers check got there safe and sound? And, most importantly, that the funds were available?

Apparently, GWhiz got the check.

This does not mean that I expect AU to actually ship the lunchboxes. They are just using the lunchboxes to stem the flow of cancellations.

In any case, the free bonus stuff now costs around $50 when you take into account other prices for the box set.

Like I said before, I would not be surprised if the lunchbox shipment is delayed by another non-payment by AU. Just another tactic to soothe the savages.

The lunchboxes were apparently paid in full 4 days after the do-or-die deadline. I think that GWhiz is still in shock that they finally got paid (and I do think that AU had to be shamed publicly into paying them). I just don't think they will mail them out to customers. If they had a history of keeping promises my opinion would be different.

It is like when the CEO of AU wrote to me today to say that they are trying to get a handle on the crush of cancellations so they could refund the money. I responded that his promises and words mean nothing. I will believe it when I see it.

In the meantime, not a single person who entered their information into the drygrass.com site received a refund in over a week.

Then Ross will be going to jail. This is no different than with BMG. Ross has prominently advertised the lunchbox on his website. He has made public statements that the lunchbox is included. For him not to ship at all is textbook fraud.

What I fully expect is for AU to take 3 - 6 months to ship them. They will NOT bring on any additional staff to mail them out. Any other merchandise will get priority. THey will be sent out bulk rate in insufficient packaging. Many will be damaged in shipping and AU will inisit their customers take it up with the UPS or whoever.

The same with the bonus disc. THey have to ship something eventually. It may contain nothing but publicity stills, but it will ship.

first of all: I can live with the fact that I paid $99.98 for the set. And I can accept that I lost 20% due to floating exchange rates. I spent that money months ago and amortised it. And as soon as I get the $115 double charge back, I'm ok

however, that is not to say that AU didn't everything wrong that was possible to do wrong and that their behaviour is in any way excusable. And certainly I will report them to every agency possible (as soon as I have the DVDs in my hands...)

yes, we all prepaid and for some reason neither BMG nor Ghwiz were paid. In the meantime that happened (hopefully not due to double charges). So we achieved something (or Jason did).

and I want them to release the Bonus DVD as well. obviously AU will only act and pay if they are under public scrutiny. And we can do that! It would be great to force them to
a) get the ok from Bedford Falls to release the interviews
b) pay the company that made filmed the interviews
c) pay the Museum of Radio and TV for the documentary
d) pay the company which supposedly will do the Bonus DVD

btw, why do you think that they won't ship the lunchbox? They paid for it and they can't sell it separately (I do not believe that they want to mess around with Disney). I guess sending it to the customers is cheaper than to throw them away
