Thanks very much. I think I will cut my losses ($20 US down payment) and refuse. I'm a uni student now so money is very tight. By my own fault I should have officially cancelled I guess but considering they never responded to anything I sent I doubted it would have got through.

My apologies, I looked through the posts and couldn't find the answer to my questions. I sent in a money order many months (at least 6) ago with a down payment and never got any kind of response.
