If they reserved the transaction then you're probably not on the pre-order.

I'd order from Amazon personally - safer, faster and seemingly far more honest.

I would go for that if you so decided to go that way. But working in the manufactoring industry I'd suspect it would not work because of the nature of volume production. They need money up-front and we might all end up in the same boat as before.

Compared to Amazon

I'd say they took our money to stay in business. Amazon.com have a real approach - they don't bill until they ship. They have had their financial woes but they always guarantee shipment. I've never had a problem with them and thus they'll get my order for the DVDs.
