Devon Gummersall in The Anarchist's Cookbook
Devon Gummersall in The Anarchist's Cookbookanyone heard anything about the new DG film 'The Anarchist cookbook', looks odd but the website has some photos of him as you've never seen him before
check out: <A HREF="http://www.anarchymovie.com/[/url] There's also a film with AJ langer in it called 'On Edge' which looks quite good but is still awaiting any form of release I believe. Re: New Devon G movieThanx for the info, richard. You were certainly right at DG looking quite different. I actually see no bit of Brian Krakow in those photos, and DG actually looks buff, if that can be imaginable. As for On Edge, it definitely looks like a quirky movie that would certainly fit with AJL's personality. I certainly hope both movies make it to either the big screen or small screen sometime soon.

Anarchist's Cookbook....where is it?So anyone know what happened with this Devon Gummersall project? I think it is called the Anarchist now. I guess they can't name a movie after a sorta-kinda-not really-but yeah- it is banned book (especially after the attacks, dear god ).
I saw a trailer on this quite a number of months ago and it just seemed to disappear. Anyone know?
It looks like the are showing it December 6-12 in Hawaii. I guess that means they don't have a distributor?

im lazy thanks for the quick reply. Thats too bad if they dont have a distro. Im sure this movie will be a bad mix of PCU and SLC Punk...but i am interested in seeing it. Devon Gummersalls new movie ANARCHIST COOKBOOK opens July 18From a recent press release:
After 30 years and 2,000,000 copies bought, borrowed or stolen, the underground classic is now a movie.... THE ANARCHIST COOKBOOK will be playing at the NUART in West LA and the Village East Cinemas in New York City July 18-24. Please visit http://www.anarchymovie.com to see the trailer. Milos Forman calls the Cookbook, "The most impressive first feature by a young director that I have seen in a very long time." Jane Sumner of the Dallas Morning News says it is, "Easily one of the best independent features ever shot...with a smart script, talented, appealing cast, deft direction...[an] intelligent indictment of extremism executed with wit, style." And FilmThreat writes, "'The Anarchist Cookbook' is worthy of attention. Susman has put together a well-crafted, witty commentary on corporate culture and the deals all of us make with ourselves to come to terms with modern existence. See it if you get a chance." Anarchy is coming. Watch the trailers at http://www.anarchymovie.com/

Speaking of Devon Gummersall movies; what ever happened to The Young Unknowns? I remember seeing a mention in Entertainment Weely that it would be out in early 2003, but I never noticed. If I remember correctly, not so much the movie but Devon's performance was getting rave reviews from some top critics.

The Young Unknowns was released in New York and Los Angeles this April. It literally showed on two screens the first weekend, expanded to a whopping five screens for two weeks, then went back down to three screens. It was only shown for seven weeks. Maybe they will release it on DVD eventually.

Not that I like bringing up old topics that much, but I saw The Anarchist Cookbook last night, and it was quite a cool movie IMO. Not the best movie I've ever seen, but still very entertaining, original, and with a good cast (Devon was great). Absolutely a must-see if you like Devon. After his great performance in MSCL I almost started to believe that he actually wás a nerd in real-life, but after seeing The Anarchist Cookbook, in which he - obviously - plays a whole other type of person, I must say I was wrong.

I would love to buy the DVD, but I've never seen a DVD-version of this movie so far, nor did any theater show it. So I had to download an illegal version (sshhh, don't tell anybody ). It was almost DVD-quality though.
