Neal Stephenson's 'Quicksilver'

Fans of 'Snowcrash', 'The Diamond Age', and 'Cryptonomicon' will probably want to seek out 'Quicksilver', 1000 pages thick and the start of a new trilogy. Here's a couple of reviews: ... index.html

Also by Stephenson, 'In the Beginning was the Command Line' is not fiction, it's a long article on computer operating systems, and the full text is available online here (I ordered the hardcopy version along with 'Quicksilver' from ... ommandLine
