For the record... I am very pleased with the DVD orders...

Post by MartinPierre » Jun 18th 2002, 1:45 pm

I am a big MSCL fan, since it first showed up. Working in the Cable industry in Canada, I made some calls to several station programmers to have it rescheduled.

I met the director of programming of Showcase at a cable show (a very nice woman), about a year before they showed it on TV.

She admitted she had loved the show, and she said it was a good idea to buy the rights.

She probably do not remember me now, but I think I may have somehow helped Showcase to show it !

I had bought the two VHS box set when they came out and was sad to see the company close. As such I am very pleased to see the DVDs made.

I reserved my copy on the first day the pre-order form came online, and I did have several problems with the order, which were all solve by AU, NOT BY JASON ! ( I do not mean to rat on him, I just want to insist that they DO offer support )

1 - The order was buggy on the first few hours, so I had to call Another Universe ( they might not respond to e-mails, but they have a 1-888 phone number... come on people, show some initiatives! ). They fixed it.

2 - I am in Québec,Canada. credit cards work differently : I was billed once for the deposit, and then twice for the 79$ amount.
I called them, saying it should have been a reserve instead of a bill, and within a few minutes they discovered the cause of the problem ( a Canadian law preventing long term reserving), thus preventing other Canadian from suffering for future orders. I was still stuck with the fact they couldn't reserve for my case and was billed from day one.

3 - They made the cancellation of the double amount, but somehow, my credit card company made an error, I called them again, they verified and I then called my credit card company who appologized.

4 - A few weeks later, still no cancel : My stupid card company had fucked up once more and lost the cancellation. Eventually, I asked AU to redo the cancel and this time it worked.

5 - Having not received the letter confirming the mail addresses, I called them, but was assured they had just been mailed the week before. I got the letter the very next morning.

So far, I am happy with the support of AU, not having to bother Jason not even once ( if I recall well ), and I am very happy with the fact the serie is coming on DVD.

Congrats Jason !

All these "happy" and "success" stories about the DVD fail to mention one obvious thing:

YOU STILL AIN'T GOT THE DVDS YOU SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're DVDless and $100 short, just like me. So quit taking the prozac and get real.

Mong Face,

Rather than make a jackass of yourself (and I won't stop you, so feel free to continue), why don't you just call BMG (Larry Karpen, in BMG Special Products 212-930-3930) and ask him if this is a figment of my imagination or not. You obviously are only interested in making people panic about this set.

And, you are probably right about one thing, if you make everybody panic and cancel, there would be no box set.

Were you one of the eBay bootleggers I pissed off by reporting you to Buena Vista?

From what I can tell he/she has not yet cancelled his/her order. I have no new cancel requests. :?:
