Wedding Songs
This morning I realized that I never got back to this thread and posted my ideas on wedding songs. I think my choice for the Bide/Groom is Ben Harper’s “Forever”.

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/benharper/forever.html Other songs I’ve heard or considered: Van Morrison – Into the Mystic (This was an excellent choice, and was used in American Wedding, lets hope the song can escape association) Van Morrison – Crazy Love Paul Simon – Father and Daughter (obviously for the Father/Bride dance) Paul Simon – Hearts and Bones I think the songs should be timeless so I tend to pick classics. I also like the soundtrack to a River Runs Through it as background music when everyone is arriving and getting food. As far as having a song goes, my girlfriend and I have one, but it’s not really appropriate for a wedding dance. It’s Eve 6’s “Here’s to the night”, which is fine to dance to, but it’s all about leaving and saying goodbye. The other night I saw the season finale of Everybody Loves Raymond, and Robert and Amie got married and danced to the JXL remix of Elvis’s “Little Less Conversation”. They had a whole routine planned out with the robot and the Pulp Fiction dance it was hilarious. "To come to your senses, you must first go out of your mind." - Alan Watts
OK, what do you guys think of Seal's song 'Kiss From a Rose'?

other options are 'Love is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet. Also, Mr. S is big Tina Turner fan but we can't think of anything in her range that's really suitable. We're really drawing a blank on this one. --------------------------------------------- http://www.urban-hills.blogspot.com --------------------------------------------- I really like Seal's 'Kiss From a Rose'. I really like "love is all around" by Wet Wet Wet. It's sweet and romantic but it's fun and sort of light too. I had that song stuck in my head for years.
I like "Kiss from a Rose", it's a very good song. Unfortunanly relentless play of the song on MTV due to one of those stupid Batman sequels ruined it for me. Everytime i here it now all i can think of is batman and robin running in slow moting in front of the batman symbol.

Come on, nothing screams Wedding Bells more than Batman and Robin
Yes, when I hear the word "wedding," I automatically think of the plastic nipples on Batman's suit. Our whole wedding party will be sporting similar outfits.

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer. You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?
The batmasks add a special dominatrix/Mardi Gras touch to the wedding - your grandparents will love it!

--------------------------------------------- http://www.urban-hills.blogspot.com --------------------------------------------- Heh, you know what happens when two musicians get together? There's NO WAY my boyfriend and I could possibly pick a song, one song, to be 'our song'. Neither of us really care about it much, either. He's a saxophone player and I'm a composer/guitarist/singer/bassist. Of course, we've only been dating almost seven months or so, so it's way too early to be thinking about marriage or anything. I will say this about the wedding I may possibly end up having - I know what song I would dance to with my father. And I know that I would like to sing a song to my husband. Other than that, I'll take a live band, thank you. Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.
~~Kristin~~ Don't leave us hanging. Which songs do you want, if you don't mind sharing? "I have all these dreams where I know exactly what to say. And you tell me, you know, that you forgive me."

 you mean engagement ring, right?

I always thought the tradition was one month's wages. Having said that, Mr. S spent quite a bit more even though I asked him not to. But I LOVE my ring --------------------------------------------- http://www.urban-hills.blogspot.com --------------------------------------------- Who is onlineUsers browsing this forum: No registered users and 60 guests |
