Newbies!hola everyone! i found this site a few months ago and recently decided that it would be good to register. i loved mscl when it was originally on and when mtv continued it. i guess it holds a special place in my heart because it was so relateable. even now i'm surprised at just how good it was. i was so fond of it that it was the sole reason i originally tuned into relativity and once and again (which of course i'm also obsessed with). let's see, for an introduction, i'll say that i am a 20yo college student majoring in english and history. i love to read, write, overobsess about really weird things, and create really inane inside jokes. good times...

Welcome Isabel & black coffee - I, too, began watching Relativity because of the MSCL connection, so you can imagine how disappointed I was (to put it mildly) when that was cancelled as well. It must be so easy to be a network exec - just throw darts at the wall to determine which shows will stay or go?

Look, if this is weird for you, being tutored? I don't mind helping you a little longer. You could have sex with me if you really want to help...I guess that's a "no"?
hiHello Isabel, Black Coffee, StvnPtrckMoz,
Glad to hear from you both! As you may have noticed we have a great community here at the board. Please stick around and enjoy. ![]() Isabel, Bonus points for majoring in history, got my undergrad in history. ![]() Best, Lance Man
Hi, another newbie here. Not just to this forums, also to the series. For too long this serie was unknown for me, but I finally discovered it. I never saw it on television, and untill a month ago I never heard of it, but then I read some things about it on websites about Claire Danes (I just love Romeo and Juliet), and read some more about it on the internet, and downloaded some clips. It got me interested, and I decided to order the DVD box with all 19 episodes, and it totally blew me away. God I'm so amazed. Yesterday I watched the last episode, and well, I don't know how to feel now..I'm still a bit emotional of it.. I'll post the rest of my thoughts in the several topics in the 'The Show' forum.
Welcome to the forum The Talented Krakow. Cool name. I guess it fits with being able to play two musical instruments.

Patty: If Rayanne's not seeing you, and we're not seeing you, who is seeing you? Graham: And how much of you? Angela: Dad! Graham: Oh, I'm sorry! I asked a question about your life, didn't I? Woah, what came over me? http://www.last.fm/user/TomSpeed/ HelloooHi everyone!
It's great to read these pages and find out that other people my age, and from the UK, have also recently discovered the show. I only bought the DVD set a few months ago, and before I saw it, I knew I'd love it, and I did. I only found this website a week ago too, so I thought I'd start posting, as I love MSCL so much (plus no one I know has seen the show, so I have no one to talk to about how great it is). ![]() To give you some info on me: Fav.shows: Buffy, MSCL, Seinfeld, Cybill, Caroline in the City Fav.films: Almost Famous, Breakfast Club, Heathers, Me Without You, Mallrats Fav.music: Sarah McLachlan, Sundays, Tori Amos, Bree Sharp, Fleetwood Mac Fav.food: Prawns, lettuce (it's good for you!), scampi, cheese-cake, white chocolate Fav.things in general: taking photos, eating cereal, cats, snuggling up in bed with a good movie, milk, Jared Leto, the word "cookie", looking at the moon Things I hate: spicy food, leather jackets, heavy metal music, spiders, my brother's laziness I hope to make lots of MSCL friends here, take care all. ![]() *~Emerald~*
Re: HelloooExactly the same here! "My parents keep asking how school was. It's like saying, 'How was that drive-by shooting?' You don't care how it _was_, you're lucky to get out alive."
Do you feel like sometimes you're so glad that you found MSCL and love keeping it a secret, like it's your own special TV show that no one else around you (in your town) knows about? Ok maybe that's just me! But I like that no one I know has asked to borrow my DVDs to get into it. I feel like I discovered something truly different and wonderful, that I want to watch in 10 or 20 years time and remember how good it made me feel when I first started watching it. Sorry if I'm getting a little deep here!
![]() *~Emerald~* hey all. god, its been agaes since ive posted in here. im always droppin by to read stuff, but im so busy i dont have time to write stuff. its soo annoying, so, thought id say hi to u all, seeing as im always reading lol. also, Emeralduk, totally agreeing with u. when mscl was first aired in the uk, i wanted to keep it all mine. ad even now, even when people watch it, im ok with it, IF they like, totally appreciate it. lol. im sucha freak, but i cant help it. i cant stand people being non obsessed with it haha. anyway, i cant write anymore cos ill fall asleep, so night all.
That was very beautiful said, I can totally relate (again). I'd imagined once how it would be if it was a very popular show and people at school were telling about it. That was a horrible thought, since it's something special to me, and not just for all those "standard" people (girls) at school, treating it like a new Backstreet Boys CD or something. Btw, hi alicia. "My parents keep asking how school was. It's like saying, 'How was that drive-by shooting?' You don't care how it _was_, you're lucky to get out alive."
I'm not new here but I liked the idea of an intro thread. I've been coming to the forum off and on for years but haven't managed to post a whole lot. I've been living in the dark ages without my own internet access until recently. I started watching MSCL when it first aired on ABC. I remember seeing previews for it and being convinced that it held some truth that I would relate to. At the time I was looking for answers everywhere and was always sure I was just about to find them. I don't know that I found any answers in MSCL but I certainly was able to relate to it. I was 14 when I first saw it and turned 15 by the time Guns and Gossip aired. I was in the midst of my own obsessive doomed-to-heartbreak-love, shifts in friendship dynamics and my relationship with my mother was disturbingly similar (more disturbingly, it still sometimes seems that way today
![]() I guess now I spout out a few specific things about me. first saw MSCL: ABC Pilot How it impacted my life: probably made me more introspective by making me feel it was okay to be so self-obsessed My greatest accomplishment in life so far: mmmph. I'm not feeling too accomplished these days so I'll settle for saying that I've finally made up my mind about what I want to do and am proud to be working my butt off to get back to school (english-history Bachelor of Arts) My shoe size: 12 My favorite fruit:oranges (maybe) My most guilty pleasure: occasional cigar (well that's the guiltiest answer I'll give to strangers) sugary cereal: honey nut cheerios My favorite cartoon character: zoidberg (but i always change my mind) clone joan of arc is pretty cool too favorite disco song: I'll pass on the disco and go with Rufus Wainright's "Rebel Prince" but I'm fairly fickle about all of my favourites.
