Complete Episodes Of Golden-Globe Winning Tv Series To Be Available For The First Time Ever October 29 With Release Of 6-Dvd Set

Show That Launched The Careers Of Claire Danes, Jared Leto, And Wilson Cruz Now A Cult Favorite - Release Comes On The Heels Of Unique Fan Petition Drive

On October 29, 2002, Another Universe will release My So-Called Life DVD Collection - the complete DVD anthology containing all 19 episodes of the famed early-90's TV series. The collection marks the first time this audience favorite has been available in its entirety, and each 5-DVD set comes with special packaging and a bonus 6th DVD containing rare interviews from the cast, writer and producers of the show.

Starring a then 13-year old Claire Danes as Angela Chase, My So-Called Life documented the trials and traumas of adolescence in a way that proved uncannily resonant with fans. In addition to Danes (Romeo and Juliet, Terminator 3), the show launched the careers of Jared Leto (Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream) as Jordan Catalano, Chase's on-again-off-again love interest; and Wilson Cruz as Rickie Velasquez, one of the first realistic openly gay characters on network television. Debuting in 1994 on ABC, the show went on to become a hit on MTV. Danes was nominated for an Emmy and won a 1995 Golden Globe (Best Actress in a TV Drama) for her role in the show.

Despite being off the air, My So-Called Life 's popularity has grown since the completion of its run in 1995, spawning numerous fan clubs and websites, with rare copies of episodes fetching hundreds of dollars from collectors. Many of these fans joined together and gathered over 4000 signatures in a unique petition, and in 2002, CMI Holdings, Another Universe parent company and the world's largest retailer of entertainment collectibles, signed a deal with BMG Special Products to make this collection available.

The Collectors Edition of My So-Called Life includes a limited edition lunchbox, bonus disk and the full 19 episode season of My So-Called Life.

Again, nice try. If we're all "brainwashed", why don't you stay on your own personal Yahoo group?

That is just AU's latest press release. Take it for what it's worth based on the history of this company.

Yeah, notice how they make no mention of WHEN the lunchbox and bonus disc will be released.

Maybe we should help them rewrite it:
"The Collectors Edition of My So-Called Life includes a limited edition lunchbox which is still in China, bonus disk which has not been pressed and the full 19 episode season of My So-Called Life."

And, this time, his post gave his location, and the name of the college he is posting from.

Hey, Kenny. Have you been able to find Three Rivers yet? I've driven all over town, and I just keep getting lost in Shadyside. :)

I'll email you the map just as soon as I finish picking these @#**@ french fries out of my salad! Actually, I've been looking too, but I keep getting lost at the Waterfront.

I always thought thought Butler (Which is north of Pittsburgh) was like Three Rivers

The schools appear to be near the same size. (750 in my graduating class)

The area around Angela and Brians homes is very similar to where to the Butler neiborhood where I grew up. (Well except we have hills everywhere)

We have our own "Let's Bolt" called "The Clubhouse" and although no one ever tried to set my hair on fire, I was involved in an altercation over dancing with someones sister...I think he wanted to dance with her!

We had steam tunnels under the entire school and a very select few new their way into them...

Differences:

We didn't have pop machines outside at our school as they would have frozen in the winter. Of course this could explain why the ones on the show never worked.

You didn't need Tino to get you in to our "Let's Bolt" (The Clubhouse was busted, I believe, three times for serving underagers).

Maybe we should have a Pittsburgh MSCL get-together make all the rest of the posters jeolous!

Anyway I'm going home for the night....

Disclaimer: I am not a stock broker/advicer/guesser/expert and as such nothing and I mean NOTHING I say should ever be used as investment advice. If you invest money in something because of anything I say your just plain dumb, but that again is my opinion and no stock should be but in my opinions either. And since I have now discussed stocks, opinions and putting and stock in opinions, I'm going to quit talking as I have confused myself.

You've convinced me!

Let's do it. We should be able to get some participation from the NYC crew. $100 airplane tickets from LGA to PIT are not unheard of. That's less than the cost of the DVD set plus mandatory overcharge.

rewrite

Post by smackey » Oct 28th 2002, 8:09 pm

Candygirl... you forgot one key phrase in your rewrite:
"The Collectors Edition of My So-Called Life includes a limited edition lunchbox which is still in China, bonus disk which has not been pressed by Justin on his trusty iMac and the full 19 episode season of My So-Called Life."

Sorry, we aren't all capable of AU's attention to detail.
