AnotherUniverse.com Releases 'My So-Called Life' DVD Set
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2002 11:23 AM
- PR Newswire

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct 22, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- On
October 29, 2002, AnotherUniverse.com will release My So-Called Life
DVD Collection
-- the complete DVD anthology containing all 19
episodes of the famed early-90's TV series, available exclusively at
http://www.anotheruniverse.com/mscldvd . The collection marks the
first time this audience favorite has been available in its entirety,
and each 5-DVD set comes with special packaging and a bonus 6th DVD
containing rare interviews from the cast, writer and producers of the
show.

Starring a then 13-year old Claire Danes as Angela Chase, My So-
Called Life documented the trials and traumas of adolescence in a way
that proved uncannily resonant with fans. In addition to Danes (Romeo
and Juliet, Terminator 3), the show launched the careers of Jared
Leto (Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream) as Jordan Catalano, Chase's on-
again-off-again love interest; and Wilson Cruz as Rickie Velasquez,
one of the first realistic openly gay characters on network
television. Debuting in 1994 on ABC, the show went on to become a hit
on MTV. Danes was nominated for an Emmy and won a 1995 Golden Globe
(Best Actress in a TV Drama) for her role in the show.

Despite being off the air, My So-Called Life's popularity has grown
since the completion of its run in 1995, spawning numerous fan clubs
and websites, with rare copies of episodes fetching hundreds of
dollars from collectors. Many of these fans joined together and
gathered over 4,000 signatures in a unique petition, and in 2002, CMI
Holdings, Another Universe parent company and the world's largest
retailer of entertainment collectibles, signed a deal with BMG
Special Products to make this collection available.

The Collectors Edition of My So-Called Life includes a limited
edition lunchbox, bonus disk and the full 19 episode season of My So-
Called Life.

AnotherUniverse.com is wholly owned by CMI Holdings Group (OTC-Pink
Sheets: CMIH).

I wonder how AU will "release" these DVDs on October 29 when they aren't leaving BMG until Friday the 25th or possibly Monday the 28th. Magic?

AU's recent email states that (1) BMG will ship the DVDs on October 25th and (2) it will take 5-7 days for them to reach AU so by my California public school math skills, the earliest that AU will have the discs is October 30 and then they still have to slap on all the labels and start shipping.

I guess everyone should hope that the "backed up" accounting people aren't among the employees pitching in for the big shipping project.

More evidence of fraud, since they took our money in March on the pretense that we would only be able to get the lunchbox that way.
