To the people who aren't cancelling...

Post by hollis27 » Oct 14th 2002, 11:37 pm

If we wind up with no DVDs, and no refunds, what then? Is there anything we can do, or are we just SOL? I've never been in a situation remotely like this, so I'm unsure of what the process would be if we all wind up with nothing. I asked Jason about this and he never did give me an answer, just kept saying 'you should be able to cancel'....

I can't cancel (yet, anyway), because my Mom used her credit card for this, it was a birthday present for me, she got double charged, no refund yet. So now, she's nervous about using her CC online, (I don't have a CC) so unless I get these things from AU or they show up in stores, I'm probably not going to get them. And I'm pretty choked. :(

Should we not hear from Ross by Wednesday, and should BMG still have no idea on when to expect payment I plan on going to AU headquarters on Thursday to ask to see the addressed boxes that are supposedly waiting to be filled with DVDs. Should I not receive confirmation I plan on cancelling my order in person. I see no point in not cancelling my order if I don't have at least some assurance that AU intends to see this project to completion.

If we can't get DVDs (for those who want them) and refunds (for those who don't), we're left with the unpleasant prospect of a class-action lawsuit. IANAL (which, profane as it sounds, is Usenet slang for "I Am Not A Lawyer"), but I'd imagine that 3000+ people and $300,000+ is enough basis for such a suit.

Wow. I bet you'll wind up with quite a story. Please share it when the time comes!

i'm not cancelling yet
•because thankfully i didn't get overcharged (yet!!)
•i am too scared that i won't end up with any dvds at all
•i really fancied having a lunchbox and bonus disk you gotta love those extra bits (any extra footage of Jordan Catalano is worth it for me!!)
•i'm basically a lazy arse who can't be bothered to rock the boat!!
so really i will probably get what i deserve in the end.....nowt!!
but next week is my birthday so i'm hoping for a wonderful AU miracle and that there will be good news before i'm 28!! you never know....IT COULD HAPPEN!
my fingers are still crossed
but i'd love to hear what happens at AU if you have to visit

Wend74,

I see where you're coming from. You sound like me, up until today at least. Today is the day I gave up.

Happy 28th birthday next week! Mine is actually tomorrow!! I'm hoping for a big fat refund from AU for my birthday! LOL... I'm not holding my breath though.

Good luck with hanging in there,

wend74 -- ditto to everything you said.

Though my brain is telling me that the smart move would be to cancel my order, my heart is still holding out for a miracle.

I'm clinging to the remote possibility that a bonus disc will actually get manufactured -- and sent to us naive folks who haven't cancelled our orders.

I did preorder at amazon, though. Just to be safe...

Well, I'm currently overcharged $115, but I haven't cancelled my order yet. I went ahead and placed a preorder with Amazon, figuring that if I somehow end up with an extra set, I can give it as a Christmas present to somebody, and if AU never comes through, at least I have a safety net.

I'm still hanging onto my AU order in the hopes of getting the lunchbox and bonus disc. I'm trying to ride things out regarding the refund that I'm owed, but I may have to start raising more of a fuss for that soon. If the whole thing somehow falls through, I'm really going to raise as much hell for them as I can (BBB, Attorney General, all that stuff). I'm still taking a wait and see attitude for now, but it looks like we're getting a lot closer to "seeing."
