I want to write and post a song about this whole situation.

Post by Jason R » Oct 12th 2002, 12:56 pm

However, I am not in much of a lyric writing mood today. However, if some people volunteer to help write the lyrics, I will write the music, record it and post an MP3 here.

I just need some ideas, and maybe it will inspire me to write the rest. Any volunteers?

<ahem>

Ooohhh...
Ross is the boss of a crappy company!
We trusted him to put our favorite show on DVD!
Now it's our loss, 'cause he's stolen our money!
Hey!
:wink:

Yeah those lyrics suck, but this is fun. :D

Maybe I should add...

I don't want to appear insensitive, and I'm just as angry about this whole thing, believe me...but I'm trying to keep my sense of humour about it. If we don't laugh, we'll cry, right?

Good luck, I look forward to hearing it. (You know I wasn't actually expecting you to use my lyrics) :)

A nasty dude called Ross,
Whose firm made a mighty loss,
Till he heard a really cool tip off,
To find some new customers to rip off.

Chorus
Another Universe, Another Universe,
Send e-mails oh so terse,
So many customers curse
Another Universe

He hatched his evil scheme,
Till he heard his customers scream.
He promised "My so called life"
But delivered lies and strife

<repeat chorus>

Customers begin to really hate
Ross, who thinks "this is great"
I'll charge 'em one more time,
It'll be the perfect crime.

<repeat chorus>

Customer complain and customers groan,
But as long as I've got the money, let 'em moan.
People trust me, what luck,
Cos personally, I couldn't give a f*ck.

<repeat chorus>

Another Universe, Another Universe,
Can't think of another verse,
Another Universe, Another Universe,
Won't be long till your bubble bursts!

Oh well, perhaps I won't become a professional song writer, but at least it made me feel better!

Sung to the tune of Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the jailing of Rojek
He is gonna spend eternity burning down in heck
We can get a rope and one strong beam and hang him by the neck
The buyers are all pissed!

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
He'll spend 10 years in the cooler!
Took all of our dough and then he told us all to blow,
But we didn't lay down and die!!!

I can hear Bob Dylan singing it!
A nasty dude called Ross,
Whose firm made a mighty loss,
Till he heard a really cool tip off,
To find some new customers to rip off.

Let's see....

Jason....the DVD faciliatator, wants to 'write a song' about the backfire that is Another Universe. And not only does he HAVE this thought, but he posted it on a public forum.

Dude do you know how unprofessional, immature, and 15-yr-old fanboy that sounds?

What we need from you is to lead by a good example and some information. Just leave the stupid s**t to the wackos on the forum.

DoubleBilled,

With all due respect, the only people acting unprofessional here are Another Universe, who are not refunding overcharges in a timely manner and are not paying BMG and GWhiz. These DVDs exist. You just won't get them if AU does not pay for them.

Please excuse my attempt at levity. I do think that I have provided a lot of useful information. And I am doing everything I can to ensure that AU pays for the discs, assuming they have the cash.

I have become friends with a lot of the people on this forum. And like them, I feel somewhat cheated right now. However, unlike them, I also consider myself to be accountable for getting these DVDs into your hands. I apologize for needing to blow off steam with the people I've gotten to know during the last year. Many of us communicate by IM and email, and not only about this DVD. I am sorry that I actually care about and want to commune with the people who want this DVD, unlike Ross who obviously sees all of us merely as dollar signs.

There are many factual threads here. Since it sounds like you do not like this one, I simply recommend not reading it. I will have plenty of heavy duty news to report by the Wednesday deadline.

i like your song idea jason.

last week i tried to get my wife to make up a song about anotheruniverse, but she thinks i'm silly for caring so much about the lunchbox. so i eagerly await your music project.

i'm not musical at all, but my idea for my wife was an acoustic song that started very peacefully but then by they end degraded into heavy distortion punk thrash fest. if i think of any good lyrics tonight i'll post them in the morning. if i had to title the song, though, i'd call it "smells like ross rojek"

Or "smells like a load of bull."

Wait, those are interchangeable terms at this point.
