the reality of "pre-order"?

Post by RiloKileyFan » Oct 5th 2002, 5:22 pm

Hello everyone-

New poster to the forum-been reading for a month or so-

my MSCL DVD stats:

Ordered June 17th- charged approximately $126 (domestic shipping!?!?!)
Overcharged $115 in August (just out of college can't really afford to have my money taken unfairly)
...still waiting

Forgive me if there is a widely documented answer to this question, but I would like the definition of what constitutes a pre-order in regard to any sort of refund resulting from this low-price Amazon debacle. I realize I was not one of the blind faith pre-orders that resulted in the creation of the DVD- but I would also define a pre-order as any order placed before the item was actually available for shipment. My order was placed ever so slightly before the original(?) ship date-unfortunately at this point-with my logic- every order would be a pre-order. Ultimately, I am just curious if I stand to recoup any money or will I really be paying some $45 for a bonus disc which I may or may not ever see in my hands. Who exactly is getting a lunch box at this point?

I also can not make sense of the shipping charges.

Thanks for any thoughts.

P.S. I too spoke with AU soon after I saw the overcharge (before learning it was an epidemic via this forum), and tried to be very cordial respecting the fact that they were seemingly doing something for the fans...but last I checked I have not been credited and the continual delay is ::preaching to the choir:: extremely frustrating. By the way interesting to note that the first season of Felicity is hitting DVD November 5th as well...it's a very different series, but in the same genre as far as I am concerned.
