Double Charged

Post by Guest » Jul 26th 2002, 1:00 am

I dont mean to whine since I read the one persons post and went through the same thing. Was anyone else charged an additional 115.00 dollars as of 7/23? Check your online statements cause I was charged. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

This is interesting. July 23rd.. I recieved another e-mail confirmation for paying for the DVD. As I have been double charged before and already recieved two e-mails like that before, I checked my account. No money has been drawn this time, but maybe that was because there was no money there. I just really wish I wont get an e-mail telling me my card was declined. If so, I would really laugh. I have paid twice already and gotten my money back for the second payment so I hoped there will be no more trouble. :)

I ordinarily am not one to make a mountain out a molehill, but I cannot get as much as a telephone call back from AU right now. All of my emails are going unanswered, from what I can tell this includes credit card corrections.

I don't know what they are doing and this is frustrating the hell out of me. Might be nothing wrong there, but there is no excuse for repeated doublecharges. It risks your credit line and is a complete waste of my time to have this happening.

If you were doublecharged recently I must recommend that you report it to your credit card. I am still taking care of it on my end, but as a fail safe, I recommend that you report it to your card. If it is a debit card, report it to your bank now. If you call AU and are told that the guy handling the phone "is not the normal guy and he cannot do anything right now", I need an email ASAP at jasonr@mscl.com.

I will be back with updates regularly.

Best
Jason

I have now reported this to the CEO via email and phone. My phone message was basically to check his emails from me. If I don't hear back I will let you know.

I checked my on-line credit card statement today and found that I have also been double charged. $115 was charged to my credit card on July 23. I plan on calling AU as soon as they open up today. I'll let you know if I have any success.

I know exactly what you mean - I sent an email to the customer service desk and to justin (one of the big cheeses apparently) but STILL i have no reply.

I have ordered a t-shirt and still haven't received it, and am not even sure if they have charged me. AAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

If I ever see a member of staff from AU, i am going to rip there heads off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(not really - I am a nice guy really!)

Okay, I just got off the phone with AU. I told them that I had been double billed and that they owe me a credit of $115. The guy (Buddy) said "No problem." He said I should have the credit within a week.

So, that was fairly simple. But now I'm a little nervous. I'm just hoping that my original order still stands and that they didn't cancel it out by mistake.

Note, if you spoke with Buddy, I am getting emails from people who told me that he said he wasn't the usual guy and couldn't process the refund. I got these emails yesterday.

I would make sure this was actually fixed. Ask for Wade or Mike. Hate to be alarmist, but I am rarely alarmist.

When I am, take it seriously.

I'm hoping that they realized they made a mistake and that Buddy has been filled in on the problem by now and can easily correct it now. Call me an optimist. I'll keep an eye on my account and if I don't see a credit by the end of next week, I'll call again.

By the way, thank you Jason for all your hard work and dedication to this! There have been a few glitches along the way, but I feel better knowing that you're involved. :D

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I was charged $115 on July 23 too. And until now, I have not had any problems with AU. I was pleased with their service. It seems as though AU is not satisfied until they have angered every single customer!

I haven't said this here before, but I am getting married in two weeks. I am already stressing out. (Not because of my fiancee, but because my family is certifiably insane right now).

I didn't need this.

These overcharges, undercharges, wrong charges are complete and utter BS. Complete waste of everybody's time. I am totally fed up with this whole entire process. I am waiting for a more thorough explanation, because if they cannot stop this from happening it could threaten everything. It is an embarassment. You deserve better.

I ask you to check your credit card bill. Call your credit card company if my post makes you antsy. If there is anything wrong with it, email me immediately at jasonr@mscl.com

hm, it's Friday night, so I can't check that before Monday - until now I was always very confident about the whole project. Now is the first time it feels strange...

My aim is not to make people panic unnecessarily. I'm just saying to check your card. Many have checked and the overwhelming majority were not affected.

However, if you were, it needs to be fixed.

AU.com tells me that the problem is with the credit card merchant gateway. Rest assured that I have been in touch with the gateway company 3 times already today. They will investigate the problem and I will report whatever I find out.
